摘要： A transactional printer having a wheel interconnected to a knife cutting assembly for frictionally engaging a severed slip and ejecting it into a receiving bin. The wheel is moved out of engagement with an ejected slip during the cutting operation of the knife. As the knife blade is restored to its pre-cut position, the wheel is moved into engagement with the slip and rotated to eject the slip into the bin. A depression in the printer housing prevents contact between the housing and the wheel when the wheel is in frictional engagement with a slip. A stop interconnected to the wheel prevents contact between the wheel and the depression.

摘要： A paper cutter assembly for a printer/plotter is mounted on the printhead carriage for movement therewith to avoid separate mounting and guide structure. A cutter wheel is mounted in a housing for cam induced movement between a raised inactive position and a lower active position by engagement of a cam element carrier mounted for movement in the cutter housing with structure on the printer chassis. The printer platen has a stationary cutter bar which extends in a channel in the platen transversely of the path of paper movement and has a cutter wheel receiving well at one end of the channel into which the cutter wheel drops without contacting the platen or cutter bar at commencement of a cutting operation. Camming surfaces on the platen engage the side of a cutter drive wheel to move the cutter wheel into engagement with the cutter bar and then to raise the cutter wheel to the proper amount of operational overlap of the cutting edges as the cutter assembly moves across the paper path. The cutter wheel is moved between its inactive and active positions at one side of the media and damage to the cut edge of rollfeed media is prevented by retracting the rollfeed media edge away from the cutter bar as the cutter wheel returns to said one side of the media after a cut.

The coating carrier (16) is a thin solid liner having a relatively low coefficient of friction that is formed by applying a curable liquid to the rear face (34b) of the magnetic layer (34) and then UV curing the liquid to form the solid liner (16). The coating carrier (16) retains the magnetic sheet (14) together after the sheet (14) has been die cut and enables the sheet (14) to be easily and quickly removed from a stack of other similar magnetic sheets without inhibiting the desired magnetic properties of the finished printed blank (10).
