Abstract:
A pack, and a method and apparatus for producing the pack, comprising an outer pack and an inner pack as a sealed block with an inner blank which encloses the pack contents, the inner pack having, in the region of an inner end wall, an opening aid which can be used a number of times and, in the region of side walls of the inner pack, folding flaps which are connected to one another by thermal sealing. Folding flaps in the region of an inner rear wall of the inner blank are configured as a fin fold and are connected to one another by thermal sealing outside the region of the cigarette group to form a fin seam, the fin seam being arranged at a spacing from regions of folding flaps which cover one another multiple times, in the region of the inner side walls.
Abstract:
A slide-open package of tobacco articles, having a parallelepiped-shaped inner container housing a group of tobacco articles and having a bottom wall, an extraction opening opposite the bottom wall, two parallel opposite major lateral walls, and two parallel minor lateral walls interposed between the major lateral walls; a parallelepiped-shaped outer container, which houses the inner container to allow the inner container to slide between a closed position, in which the inner container is inserted inside the outer container, and an open position, in which the inner container is at least partly extracted from the outer container; and a coupon folded about the group of tobacco articles and located between the group of tobacco articles and the inner container.
Abstract:
A packet (1) of cigarettes having: an inner package (2) defined by a group (30) of cigarettes wrapped in a sheet (29) of wrapping material having at least one tear line (32) defining a tear-off top portion (31); an inner container (4) housing the inner package (2) and having an extraction opening (10) for access to the tear-off top portion (31); an outer container (5) housing the inner container (4) in sliding manner, to allow the inner container (4) to slide, with respect to the out container (5), between a closed position, in which the inner container (4) is inserted inside the outer container (5), and an open position, in which the inner container (4) is extracted partly from the outer container (5); and a tear-off lid (45) connected to the inner container (4) by at least one tear line (48), and covering at least part of the extraction opening (10).
Abstract:
A wrapping method and unit for producing a package containing a group of cigarettes and having a cigarette extraction opening; a sheet of wrapping material, complete with the cigarette extraction opening, is fed into a pocket of a wrapping wheel so that the sheet of wrapping material folds into a U inside the pocket; then the group of cigarettes is fed into the pocket containing the U-folded sheet of wrapping material.
Abstract:
A method for making a hinge-lid pack of cigarettes, which finds particular application in the manufacture of a pack with rounded or beveled vertical edges having retention means to facilitate consistent lid closure, comprises: positioning an inner frame on a bundle of cigarettes; folding a first end of a blank for a hinge-lid cigarette pack over one end of the bundle of cigarettes to at least partially form the lid of the pack; and moving the inner frame relative to the blank in the direction of the at least partially formed lid. Apparatus for making a hinge-lid pack of cigarettes by folding a blank for a hinge-lid cigarette pack about a bundle of cigarettes having an inner frame thereon, includes means for forming a portion of the blank into the lid of the pack, the apparatus further comprises means for moving the inner frame relative to the blank towards the at least partially formed lid. Preferably, the apparatus comprises a wheel indexable between a number of stations, the wheel having a plurality of pockets spaced about its periphery.
Abstract:
A folding method and device, whereby a tubular wrapping is formed about a product by inserting the product inside a U-shaped pocket together with a sheet of wrapping material, a first lateral portion of which is interposed between the product and a first lateral wall of the pocket, and a second lateral portion of which, opposite the first, is folded outside and beyond the pocket and crosswise to the first lateral portion; the tubular wrapping being closed by moving the first lateral wall of the pocket outwards, simultaneously moving a contrast member onto the first lateral portion, and then folding the second lateral portion, by means of an external folding member, onto the product and so as to overlap the first lateral portion; and the tubular wrapping being fixed inside the pocket by withdrawing the external folding member, simultaneously closing the first lateral wall onto the product, and withdrawing the contrast member (34) from the pocket.
Abstract:
In the production of large packs (10) each comprising a pack group (11), in particular comprising cigarette packs (12), different-wrapper versions have to be taken into account. For this purpose, two folding turrets (21, 22) for different packaging material are provided, namely a folding turret (21) for cardboard blanks (13) and a folding turret (22) for blanks (20) made of paper or film. The two folding turrets (21, 22) are arranged one beside the other in horizontal alignment. Each folding turret (21, 22) is provided with four pockets which each run through three operating stations.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for folding and sealing the longitudinal end flaps of cigarette packs. The folding is performed by means including a rotating turret having a number of radially external pockets each adapted to receive a pack. The pocket axes extend parallel to the turret axis and the pockets are open at their ends, where the end flaps which project in the intermediate folding position project out of the pocket. Folding and sealing shoes are associated with each pocket and are mounted on both sides of the turret for both radial and axial movement. Due to this movement the folding and sealing shoes first fold inwardly the longitudinal end flap--which is positioned radially inwardly relative the turret axis and which has a closure strip, in such a manner that the closure strip engages with the inside of the opposing longitudinal end flap. The shoes then apply the required pressure in the direction of its movement so that the closure strip is pressed on to the opposing longitudinal end flap, the back of which is supported by an abutment. The side end flaps are then folded by folding means applying lateral pressure.
Abstract:
A method of producing a container, such as a flip-top cigarette packet, is disclosed. The method includes the initial step of folding an elongate blank at a fold line so that first and second portions of the blank on respective opposite sides of the fold line are brought into mutually facing relationship, and the subsequent steps of folding the first such portion to form the main body of the container and folding the second such portion to form the lid of the container, the latter folding step being carried out whilst the lid portion remains hingedly connected with the main body at the fold line. Also disclosed is apparatus comprising respective folding means to perform the three folding operations referred to above.
