摘要: A watercraft having a hull, a mast with sail, an aft rudder and a hydrofoil projecting below the bottom of the hull. The hydrofoil is pivotly connected to the hull enabling the hydrofoil to pitch on a pivot axis which is essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hull. The hydrofoils have a vertical part which produces lateral forces to accelerate the boat in turns and resist lateral forces from the sail, and a vertical portion which curves into the horizontal portion which produces vertical lift. The angle of incidence of the hydrofoil is controlled by a sensor arm carrying a trailing sensor.

摘要: The invention comprises a method of using a scalable, configurable “propulsor” system to move and navigate a submersible device through a fluid medium. A propulsor system is an assembly of individual propulsors that act in concert to form a substantially continuous control surface that undulates in a working fluid. Each propulsor is driven and configured by computer-controlled actuators so that the control surface undulates in various wave forms. Optional actuators that may refine the surface shape include an “orientation” actuator that drives rotation about the propulsor's longitudinal axis, and a “geometry” actuator that controls each propulsor's geometric configuration.

摘要: This invention can be fitted to a variety of vessels and accommodate a variety of accessories that may require deployment or retraction such as electronic equipment, downrigger or an outboard skeg mechanism as detailed in the preferred embodiment. This invention in it's preferred embodiment is shown on, but not limited to, the stern of a kayak. It increases the efficiency of linear tracking, allows the handling characteristics of an aquatic vessel to be tuned, and reduces the amount of technical skill required to control the vessel. It can have control linkage to deploy or retract it, can be stowed separate from the vessel, is lightweight, and is easy to assemble and operate.
