A subsea crane system and a method of installing equipment using the same. In one example, the subsea crane system a plurality of winches positioned adjacent to a seabed and each of the winches has an associated winch line. A buoyancy tank is mechanically connected to each of the winches by the winch lines. A lift line extends from the buoyancy tank and an engagement device is provided at the end of the lift line.

The invention relates to a floating lowering and lifting device having a floating structure and a lifting unit lowerable from the floating structure towards the sea bed, the lifting unit having a chamber with at least one gas-inlet opening in its wall and an equalization opening in its wall, a gas supply means being connected to the gas inlet opening, the device having a controller connected to the gas supply means for controlling a gas supply rate to the chamber. The chamber has a releasable coupling member for releasably attaching to a load and is connected via a lifting cable to a take up device on the floating structure for lengthening and shortening the lifting cable.

A rescue ship for a disabled vessel includes a hull which delimits an elongated dock (12) which is at least 150 m long and preferably at least 250 m long and at least 30 m wide and preferably at least 45 m wide, and including a ballasting device enabling draught modification by at least 15 m and preferably at least 20 m. The hull has two lateral hulls capable of being ballasted (14) and enclosing the dock (12), and the stem has a practically sealed door (18) which can close the rear of the dock (12). The ship further includes maneuvering elements designed to exert a thrust in one direction transverse at least to the longitudinal axis of the ship. The invention is applicable to the rescue of disabled vessels.

A device for the transport of loads under water which may be used also as a loading bridge, allows to reach great depths under water and comprises a tank (S), two tanks (Sg) and a float (G) in which the pressure automatically remains equal to the external hydrostatic one, due to a valve (V) with four functions that assures the air volume, predetermined in the loading phase, to be constant inside the tank with the variation of the depth.
Abstract:
A method for lifting a sea platform with its substructure attached from a seabed and moving that platform to a different location. Use is made of flotation bodies which are filled with water and attached to the substructure. The flotation bodies can be emptied of some water to provide greater flotation and can be rotated around a horizontal axis to facilitate movement of the entire assembly under various sea conditions.
Abstract:
An underwater salvage apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus (includes a harness adapted to be oriented on) a substantially cylindrical drum having an air inlet and a water vent. The harness comprises a plurality of spaced longitudinally extending straps, having upper ends interconnected at the top of the drum. A ring adjacent these upper ends allows fastening of the harness to another harness by a line. Each of the longitudinally extending straps has a lower free end adapted to be disposed below the drum, and each of the lower free ends has a ring for securing the free end to an object to be salvaged. The harness also includes at least one circumferentially disposed strap interconnecting the plurality of longitudinally extending straps. The circumferentially disposed strap has a pair of free ends, with a pair of rings on one of the free ends for tightening the harness onto the drum by securing the pair of free ends.
