Abstract:
A system and method of measuring bioelectric signals generated by an individual, inclusive of humans or other living organisms, comprises a plurality of sensors, at least one of the plurality of sensors being constituted by a capacitive-type sensor. Sensor has an associated insulated layer of material preventing the conduction of direct current between an electrode and individual, wherein a bioelectric signal of individual can be measured underwater.
Abstract:
A closure system is provided. The closure system comprises an outer panel comprising an inner surface having a plurality of connecting members. An inner panel is provided comprising an outer surface having a plurality of connecting members, and an insertion panel configured for engagement with the outer panel and the inner panel. The insertion panel comprises an interior surface and an exterior surface where each surface includes a plurality of connecting members. The inner surface of the outer panel engages with the exterior surface of the insertion panel, and the outer surface of the inner panel engages with the interior surface of the insertion panel so as to seal the insertion panel with the outer and inner panels. Methods of use are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An aquatic sport performance garment configured to improve a user's performance, enhance a user's speed and ease with which the wearer moves through water, provide better control of body temperature in diverse environments and reduce overall fatigue while wearing the garment. A garment having an upper-torso portion, a free-floating, sealing collar and sleeves biased in an arms-up configuration.
Abstract:
An aquatic sport performance garment comprising restraints affixed to a lateral material surface of the aquatic sport performance garment approximately parallel to a sagittal plane along each side of the garment and further comprising restraints affixed to a material surface across the back of the aquatic sport performance garment, posteriorly offset from the coronal plane of the garment in a criss-cross fashion, intersecting the longitudinal axis with the ends of the criss-cross restraints located in proximity to the ends of the longitudinally placed lateral restraints on each side of the garment; said restraints configured to inhibit side-to-side bending of the body of a user, reduce longitudinal drag, improve stroke mechanics, encourage proper torso rotation and muscle coordination about the midsection of the body of the user during movement and improve endurance when the garment is worn by the user when swimming.
Abstract:
A wetsuit washing system includes at least one hanger assembly. A piping arrangement is in communication with the at least one hanger assembly. The piping arrangement distributes a liquid to the at least one hanger assembly. A pump pumps the liquid from a reservoir through the piping arrangement to the at least one hanger assembly. The at least one hanger assembly includes a hollow first irrigation member to permit the flow of liquid there through. The first irrigation member includes first and second support elements. The first support element is substantially arcuate in a first dimension. The second support element is substantially elliptical in a second dimension.
Abstract:
A wetsuit for aquatic activities may include a wetsuit material having a first surface and an opposite second surface. The wetsuit may also include a chest pad located on the first surface in an anterior portion of the wetsuit corresponding with a portion of the wetsuit associated with the chest region of a wearer of the wetsuit. The chest pad may include a left-angled superior surface and a right-angled superior surface that intersect at a prow disposed at a superior portion of the chest pad, each of the left-angled superior surface and the right-angled superior surface being configured to route water from the chest region in a lateral direction.
Abstract:
An integrated dive suit includes at least one flexible polymeric pressure vessel connected with sections of flexible conduit to a manifold. The pressure vessel and sections of flexible conduit are encased in high strength fiber material. The pressure vessels are wrapped in high strength ballistic ribbon material. A weight system is integrated with the pressure vessels. The manifold provides connections for a high pressure regulator and an air fill source. A high pressure hose is connected to the high pressure regulator, a low pressure regulator is connected to the low pressure hose and a mouthpiece connected to the low pressure regulator. A hydrodynamic pressure vessel container is integrally attached to the dive suit. A two part, balanced flexible buoyancy control vest, flexible weight pellet containers and a wireless pressure gauge are integrated with the dive suit. A concentrator is used to pressurize a flexible pressure vessel for charging the vessels in the dive suit.
Abstract:
A wetsuit comprising first panels exhibiting a high-stretch and adapted to provide buoyancy to the wearer and second panels exhibiting a low-stretch and adapted to provide further buoyancy to the wearer wherein the first and the second panels are fastened together by seams and wherein the second panels are arranged according to the muscular configuration of the wearer to stimulate the muscular relaxation velocity of the wearer.
Abstract:
A polychloroprene-free wetsuit and material is described that uses closed cell thermoplastic elastomer foam. Depending on the wetsuit application, the density of the closed cell thermoplastic elastomer foam may vary. In many wetsuit applications low densities such as less than 0.25 grams/cubic centimeter and preferably 0.10 to 0.20 grams/cubic centimeter are desirable.
Abstract:
A wetsuit is provided with knee pads. Each knee pad comprises a ring of relatively stiffer elastic material extending around the kneecap of the wearer to provide compression around the kneecap of the wearer, and a central region of relatively less stiff elastic material that rests on the kneecap of the wearer. A compression strip extending along a region corresponding to the medial collateral ligament (MCL) of the wearer may also be provided. The wetsuit may provide enhanced proprioception feedback to a wearer in the subject region of the wearer.
