摘要: A motor vehicle fender has inner and outer sides joined to top and bottom covers to form a four sided, closed structure having a downward extending front portion, generally straight middle portion and a downwardly extending rear portion encircling the top portion of a wheel well of a motor vehicle. The top cover angles inward toward the vehicle and downward toward the ground so the top, outer edge of the fender protrudes to deflect vegetation from the top of the fender, and the outer side angles inward and downward so the top, outer edge protrudes to deflect vertically growing vegetation from parts of the outer side of the fender.

摘要: A wheel house cover (2) for a wheel house (1) of a motor vehicle (4) has a basic body (13) defining a segment of a circular ring with an outer side (14) and an inner side (15). The wheel house cover (2) is fastened to a body sheet (5) so that the outer side (14) is visible. The rear side (15) of the wheel house cover (2) has fastening crosspieces (16) each of which has a fastening opening (8, 17) and a fastening protrusion (18). The fastening opening (8, 17) receives a fastening element (10) to achieve interlocking connection of the wheel house cover (2) to the body sheet (5). The fastening protrusion (18) engages in a positioning opening (9, 19) of the body sheet (5) to position the wheel house cover (2) relative to the body sheet (5).

摘要: A modular fender assembly for a vehicle includes a fender body having first and second body portions defining respective portions of the exterior of the fender body. First and second joiner brackets are bonded onto inner ends of the first and second body portions respectively. The joiner brackets have joiner flanges which can be joined with one another in parallel abutment to join the first and second body portions. Either body portion of the fender can thus be trimmed to length to suit the application prior to bonding the joiner bracket in position according to the new trimmed length. The joiner brackets typically have multiple overlapping and interlocking joiner flanges which span across the abutted seam between the two adjacent fender body portions, including upright stiffener flanges, for improving strength to reduce bending and sagging of the fender assembly at the seam.

摘要: A plastic fender is provided for coping with thermal deformation. Additionally, an apparatus is provided which makes an effect of allowing the plastic fender to move to cope with thermal deformation, by integrally forming a bellows shape with a mounting portion of the plastic fender. The plastic fender includes a hood line portion, a bumper line portion, and a door line portion. Additionally, mounting portions are formed along an edge of each of the hood line portion, the bumper line portion, and the door line portion, respectively. The plastic fender includes a bellows-shaped portion that is formed on the mounting portions and is moveable to cope with the thermal deformation.

摘要: The present invention is, in a first aspect, a two-piece vehicular splash guard assembly including a splash guard body, having at least one slit, and a cover, having at least one tab corresponding to and registerable with the at least one slit. Removably securing the cover about an interior surface of the splash guard body, either before or after painting the splash guard body, ensures that no paint bleeds onto the inside surface of the splash guard body during the manufacturing process. In a second aspect, a method of painting said splash guard assembly is provided in order to create fine paint lines along the edges of the splash guard body. The cover may be attached either prior to or after painting and, thereafter, the combined cover and splash guard body may be attached to a vehicle or, alternatively, the splash guard body alone may be attached to the vehicle.
