Abstract:
A wiper device includes: a pivot shaft that rotates back and forth within a predetermined angular range; an arm head that is fixed to the pivot shaft; a cover that is mounted to the arm head; and a wiper arm that is pivotally supported on the arm head to come into and out of contact with a surface to be wiped. The wiper arm includes an engagement concave portion that extends in a longitudinal direction of the wiper arm at a side portion in a pivot direction of the wiper arm. The cover includes an engagement convex portion that extends in the longitudinal direction of the wiper arm. Relative movement of the wiper arm and the cover is restricted by engagement between an engagement wall portion of the engagement concave portion and the engagement convex portion.
Abstract:
A drive unit includes an output shaft, a drive source, which causes the output shaft to rotate in a reciprocating manner within a first angular range, an arcuate movement portion, which performs arcuate movement about the axis of the output shaft as the shaft is rotated, a pivot shaft, and a lever member, which is rotational about the axis of the pivot shaft. As the arcuate movement portion performs arcuate movement, the lever member is rotated, in a reciprocating manner within a second angular range, while changing the engaging position with the arcuate movement portion.
Abstract:
A windshield wiper arm assembly that is adapted to support a wiper blade as it moves across a surface to be wiped. The windshield wiper arm assembly includes a body and a head supported by the body and adapted to be mounted to a pivot shaft that defines a pivot axis P and drives the wiper blade in an oscillating manner across the surface to be wiped. The body also includes an opening providing access to the head mounted to the pivot shaft. A cover is mounted to the body at the opening and is movable about an axis A substantially parallel to the pivot axis P from a first position closing the opening to a second position allowing access to the head.
Abstract:
The invention provides for a wiper arm for a windshield wiper system comprising a fixing element (12) for connection to a drive shaft, whereby a tiltably-fixed cover unit (24) is provided for at least partially releasing the fixing element (12). It is proposed that the cover unit (24) can be engaged with the fixing element (12) in the tilted position. A cover unit for a wiper arm is also proposed.
Abstract:
An arm head has a couple of hinge holes. A cover has a couple of hinge projections. The arm head and the cover are hingedly connected to each other through the hinge holes and the hinge projections. A rotation guide extends radially outwardly from each hinge hole. A protrusion protrudes radially outwardly from each hinge projection and is received in the rotation guide. A locking projection extends from the rotation guide. The locking projection is spaced from an opening movement limiting end of the rotation guide for a distance, which is substantially the same as a width of the protrusion of the hinge projection.
Abstract:
In a wiper arm, a head cover detachably attached to an arm head has a stopper wall that protrudes inward from an end thereof and is inserted into a gap between the arm head and an arm member. When the arm member is rotated by a certain angle to the arm head in the direction away from the windshield glass, the stopper wall comes in contact with the arm member so that further rotation of the arm member is suppressed. Accordingly, a possible damage of the wiper arm due to a car washer, which accidentally turns the arm member to the lock back state, is avoided. On the other hand, if a user detaches the head cover from the arm head, the arm member can be manually rotated to the lock back state so that a blade rubber replacement operation for a maintenance purpose is easy.
Abstract:
A connector fitting for mounting a windscreen wiper arm on the output spindle of a windscreen wiper arm drive mechanism is formed from sheet metal by stamping the outline of a blank, deforming the blank to form a fastening means for the blade-applying spring, chasing the metal to form a bush to receive the spindle and bearing collars for a pivot pin articulating the fitting to the blade, and folding the metal to give the fitting a channel shape.
Abstract:
A stepped-designed beam arm wiper assembly has a beam arm that locks into a mounting head such that the beam arm can be disconnected from the mounting head for servicing a wiper blade attached to the beam arm. A head cover is attached to the mounting head via hinges on either side of the head cover which allow the head cover to open off the head on either pin hinges of the head, and can be pressed onto the head and retained on. The other end of the beam arm is inserted into an adapter which snaps onto a rear wiper blade coupler via lead-in hole and trunnion connection. The beam arm has an airfoil with a stepped design to match the head cover, adapter, and blade assembly stepped design.
