    摘要: A fob for a passive entry passive start (PEPS) system includes a LF receiver, an UHF transmitter, an UWB transceiver, a primary battery to power the receiver and the transmitter, a rechargeable secondary battery to power the transceiver, and a controller. The controller may cause the primary battery to recharge the secondary battery when the secondary battery has a low charge. The controller may cause the transmitter to transmit an indication to a base station of the PEPS system that the primary battery has a low charge. This indication is to alert a user to replace the primary battery. The controller may cause the transmitter to transmit an indication that the secondary battery is dead when the secondary battery is detected to be dead. This indication is to alert the base station that PEPS communications of the fob will not involve the transceiver.

    摘要: A portable identification transmitter for a passive access system of a motor vehicle includes an electrical buffer store which is coupled to an LF circuit assembly in order to charge the electrical buffer store via an energy draw from electromagnetic fields coupled in via LF antennas. Also included is an electronic switching device which can decouple a battery from a microcontroller of the passive access system. The microcontroller and the LF circuit assembly are coupled to the buffer store so that when the buffer store is charged beyond a specified charging level, the open electronic switching device can be activated to couple the battery to the microcomputer via the microcontroller while energy is supplied to the microcontroller from the buffer store.

    摘要: A system for transitioning a key fob between a standard operating mode and a battery conserving shipping mode includes a shipping mode controller which detects a vehicle state indicative of a vehicle shipping mode operation having been performed, and causes a shipping mode instruction signal to be sent from a vehicle to the key fob associated with that vehicle instructing the key fob to transition from the standard operating mode to the shipping mode. The vehicle shipping mode operation is an operation which initiates a transition of the vehicle from a standard operating mode to a shipping mode, and serves as a trigger for the shipping mode controller to transmit the shipping mode instruction signal. When in the shipping mode, the key fob may be entirely powered-off or have certain communication-related functions disabled.
