Abstract: A retainer for a mobile device is disclosed. The retainer may have a base defined by an open-sided resilient wall, which is capable of flexible and removable engagement to an internal surface of a container insert. An arm may extend vertically upward from the base and may support a holder. The holder may be positioned over the base. The holder may have a bottom wall, a front wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall, a rear wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall opposite of the front wall, and opposite side walls extending upwardly from the bottom wall and interconnecting the front wall and the rear wall, wherein the rear wall has a height lesser than a height of the front wall. The bottom wall, the front wall, the rear wall, and the opposite sidewalls defining a space configured to receive and retain the mobile device.

Abstract: A vehicle driver assist system has a mounting bracket that includes at least one locking arm having an upper surface that engages a lower surface on a tab on a camera housing. The upper surface on the locking arm extends generally perpendicular to a vertical surface on the locking arm. The mounting bracket includes a biasing member that applies a force to the housing to urge the lower surface on the tab of the housing into engagement with the upper surface on the locking arm. The mounting bracket includes a channel for receiving a second tab on the housing. The channel is at least partially defined by an arm extending from a sidewall of the bracket. The arm has an end surface and the sidewall has a guide surface. The end surface of the arm and the guide surface at least partially define an insertion opening that faces generally downwardly. The second tab on the housing slides into the channel in the mounting bracket through the insertion opening to connect the housing to the mounting bracket. The housing and the second tab are pivotal relative to the bracket after the second tab has slid into the channel.

Abstract: A mobile device mounting system includes a device case and a mount. The device case includes: an insert including a rectangular bore and defining a set of undercut sections about the rectangular bore; and a first set of magnetic elements arranged in a first pattern about the rectangular bore. The mount includes: a body; a polygonal boss extending from the body and configured to insert into the rectangular bore; a set of locking jaws arranged on the polygonal boss configured to transiently mate with the set of undercut sections to constrain the polygonal boss within the rectangular bore; and a second set of magnetic elements arranged in a second pattern about the polygonal boss and configured to transiently couple to the first set of magnetic elements to transiently retain the mount against the device case and to drive the set of locking jaws toward the set of undercut sections.

Abstract: An apparatus for mounting within a vehicle, an object having at least one receptacle in a first main surface. The apparatus comprises a base having a mounting surface. A latch and a frame are movable between latched and unlatched positions and are biased toward the latched position by a first biasing element. One or more push buttons are movable between extended and depressed positions and are biased toward the extended position by a second biasing element. A lower portion of the push button blocks and allows movement of the frame toward the latched position when the push button is in the extended and depressed position, respectively. The first main surface pushes the push button to the depressed position, thereby enabling the first biasing element to move the latch and the frame to the latched position, in which the latch engages with the at least one receptacle.
