摘要: A process for preparing an imaging surface of an imaging transfer member in a printing machine, the process comprises providing a surface roughness to the imaging surface to produce a plurality of pits having sharp features on the surface, and then exposing the pitted imaging surface to an acid dip for a time period sufficient to substantially reduce the sharp features on the imaging surface. This process may be followed by anodization. The process produces an imaging surface having a pit structure providing reduced oil consumption and wear of components of the printing machine that contact the imaging surface.

摘要: A lithographic printing plate and a method of preparing a lithographic printing plate is described which is suitable for use with inkjet printers for forming images, wherein the inkjet printers use a pigment based ink. A substrate having thickness of 50 to 400 microns is selected from a group of substrates consisting of a polymeric substrate, a paper substrate, a metal substrate, a fabric substrate and a laminate of a combination of the substrates. At least one layer of a hydrophilic lithographic coating is applied on an operative surface of the substrate. The coating is prepared by mixing together at least one hydrophilic binder, at least one cross-linking agent, at least one catalyst, at least one accelerator, at least one inorganic pigment, at least one surfactant and particulate silica having particle size between 1 to 15 microns and pore volume between 0.2 to 1.8 ml/gm. The layer typically has a thickness of at least 5 microns and at least one layer is applied.

摘要: An electrolysis treatment apparatus for performing electrolytically treating a metal strip that is running in a certain direction is provided. A number of electrolysis cells continuously perform the electrolysis treatment with alternating currents in acidic electrolyte solutions. The electrolysis cells are arranged in series along the running direction of the metal strip. In each of the electrolysis cells, one electrode or two or more electrodes is/are provided. Each electrode is disposed so as to face a running path of the metal strip and applies alternating current. A soft start portion is provided at an entry region of the electrode at which the metal strip is fed in. Current density of the alternating current in the plural electrolysis cells is set so as to be the lowest in the electrolysis cell disposed furthest downstream with respect to the running direction of the metal strip. In at least one electrolysis cell except the electrolysis cell that is disposed furthest downstream. A low current density zone is provided at an exit region at which the metal strip is fed out.

摘要: In a method of producing a photosensitive planographic printing plate according to the present invention, a web is coated with a coating solution, and a coating solution film thus formed is rapidly dried. For this drying, fresh air is blown onto the web W heated with a heat roll such that the air is blown parallel to the coating solution film. The coating solution film can thereby be prevented from changing its thickness due to an air stream during drying, while the coating solution film can be rapidly dried. Accordingly, the coating solution film can be dried before the film is leveled, to form a coating layer having uniform thickness.
