Disclosed is a printing method comprising the steps of mounting an underlay sheet on a plate cylinder of a printing press, and providing, on the underlay sheet, a printing plate material comprising a plastic sheet support, and provided thereon, a hydrophilic layer, an image formation layer and a backing layer, the backing layer being provided on the side of the support opposite the image formation layer, so that the backing layer side surface of the printing plate material contacts the underlay sheet surface, wherein a coefficient of dynamic friction of the backing layer side surface of the printing plate material to the underlay sheet surface is from 0.1 to 0.5.

An image forming method is disclosed, comprising exposing a silver halide photographic material through a transparent, high definition-screening original and developing the photographic material with a developer to form a halftone dot image, wherein:the photographic material forms a halftone dot image having a dot area of 57% or less when exposed, through the transparent original comprising a halftone dot image having a dot area of 50%, in two times an amount that gives a halftone dot having a dot area of 50%; and the photographic material has a maximum density of 3.0 or more and a contrast of 8.0 or more;and wherein the photographic material is exposed to light having an emission peak at a wavelength of 360 to 450 nm and developed with a developer having a pH of 10.5 or less.

Disclosed is a method for developing a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material with a developer having a pH within the range of 9.5 to 10.7 through an automatic processor, wherein said silver halide photographic light-sensitive material comprises a support and thereon, at least one silver halide emulsion layer comprising silver halide grains containing at least 60 mol % of silver chloride, comprising the steps of:replenishing a first developer replenishing-solution having lower activity than a starter for a developer; andreplenishing a second developer replenishing-solution having the substantially same activity as said starter for a developer.

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which has high sensitivity and can be handled under bright safelight. The photographic material comprises a support bearing thereon photographic component layers including at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing a silver halide emulsion sensitized so as to have a maximum spectral sensitivity on the side of a wavelength shorter than at least 600 nm and at least one non-light-sensitive hydrophilic colloid layer arranged to the side of the silver halide emulsion layer opposite to the support. And at least one of the hydrophilic colloid layers contains a water-soluble dye having a maximum light-absorption within the wavelength region of not less than 700 nm.
