    摘要: A printing press is provided which includes a printing unit for printing on a web. The printing unit includes a plate cylinder, a blanket cylinder, and an impression cylinder. The press further includes a web displacement bar movable between a first position in which the web displacement bar is spaced apart from a web passing between the blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder, and a second position in which the web displacement bar holds the web in contact with the impression cylinder and spaced apart from the blanket cylinder. A method of operating the press is also provided.

    摘要: This invention discloses a numbering and imprinting machine including a number cylinder, moving inker, first cleaning device, second cleaning device, inker position detector, and control device. The number cylinder includes at least one numbering device. The moving inker includes a number inker which supplies ink onto the number cylinder, and is movable between a printing position at which the number inker comes into contact with the number cylinder, and a retraction position at which the number inker separates from the number cylinder. The first cleaning device cleans the number cylinder. The second cleaning device cleans the number inker. The inker position detector detects the position of the moving inker. When the inker position detector detects that the moving inker is set at the printing position, the control device rotates the number cylinder, drives the number inker and controls cleaning operations by the first cleaning device and the second cleaning device.

A second blanket cylinder transfers the second image portion to the web at a second location. An impression cylinder contacts the first blanket cylinder and the second blanket cylinder via the web. The first image portion and the second image portion form one continuous image having an image cutoff length. A method of printing an image on a web with a cutoff using a variable cutoff offset printing press is also provided.

    摘要: An object is to provide a rotary press that copes with a variation in the positions of printing cylinders and that includes a safety device having a simple structure. The rotary press has a cut-off length of a web (11) that is variable by changing diameters of a plate cylinder (15) and a blanket cylinder (17), the rotary press including a printing section (6) including the plate cylinder (15) and the blanket cylinder (17); an ink-applying roller (20); and a safety device provided in the vicinity of the printing section (6). The safety device includes a safety bar mechanism (37) that stops the operation upon detecting intrusion of an object to a contact area of the plate cylinder (15) and the blanket cylinder (17) and/or a safety cover (30) that is provided to shield the plate cylinder (15), the ink roller (20) and the blanket cylinder (17), from the outside. The edge of the safety cover (30) and the safety bar mechanism (37) are movable to positions corresponding to the movement of the plate cylinder (15) and the blanket cylinder (17) due to changes in the diameters thereof.

    摘要: In a sheet-fed offset press having at least one printing unit in which the blanket cylinder can be thrown on and off the impression cylinder and plate cylinder by a pressure-medium-energized actuating arrangement, the pressure medium energization is triggered by a control unit in accordance with the position of grip edge zones of the cylinders being in registration. In order to ensure that throwing on and throwing off take place when the grip edge zones of the cylinders are positioned immediately opposite one another, the control unit detects the position of the printing unit cylinders relatively to one another by way of an angular position sensor and also detects the actual speed of the press via a speed sensor. The control unit forms speed-dependent throw-on and throw-off actuating times which are advanced in the direction of rotation of the printing unit cylinders so that the reaction time is outside the time slot for grip edge zone registration. The invention reduces the very substantial constructional outlay needed in the case of pressure-medium-energized actuating arrangements to ensure reliable throw-on and throw-off at high printing speeds.
