Abstract:
An injection molding machine mold clamping device (1) comprising an electromechanical mold opening and closing mechanism, a hydraulic mold clamping. mechanism, and a mold thickness adjustment device, said mold thickness adjustment device comprising a first detection device (70) for detecting the position of a mold clamping ram (51), a second detection device (90) for optically detecting the position of a half nut device (20), and a mold clamping ram position control device (90) for hydraulically holding and controlling the position of the mold clamping ram (51). The position of the half nut device (20) is held by hydraulic control at the mold thickness adjustment position during mold opening and closing. In the initial mold opening and closing operation, the large mold opening force exerted by the mold clamping ram (51) may be used to open the mold.
Abstract:
An injection molding machine with a vertically displaceable closing unit, comprises a plate-like lower yoke as the counterpressure plate; a plate-like upper yoke as the stationary mold clamping plate; at least three vertically aligned struts connecting the lower yoke and the upper yoke with each other in a force-locked manner; as well as another plate-like element serving as the displaceable mold clamping plate, which is displaceable on the struts by one or more driving cylinders having a small cross section and a large stroke length. The displaceable mold clamping plate is displaceable by one or more driving cylinders stopped on the displaceable mold clamping plate and on the counterpressure plate, such that molding tool halves arranged on surfaces of the mold clamping plates can be driven from a maximum spacing into a position of mutual abutment, and vice-versa. In the abutting position, a short-stroke cylinder with a larger cross section and acting between the counterpressure plate and the displaceable mold clamping plate can be engaged to generate the required closing pressure. The engageable short-stroke cylinder is a piston-and-cylinder system to which a fluid medium can be admitted. This system can be retracted and extended in the abutting position from the closing unit in the horizontal direction between the counterpressure plate and the displaceable mold clamping plate.
Abstract:
A securing/clamping system for use with platens of a molding machine including a stationary platen having a first mold half affixed thereto, a movable platen having a second mold half affixed thereto, the movable platen travelling along a plurality of tiebars, and reciprocatively moving between a mold open and mold closed position, and a system for applying a clamping force to the movable platen.
Abstract:
A closing unit for injection mold machines is disclosed which generally includes two end plates, guide crosspieces connecting the end plates at a distance from one another, an intermediate plate which is parallel to the end plates and displaceable longitudinally relative to the guide crosspieces and moving cylinders which abut an end plate and act at the intermediate plate via their piston rods. The moving cylinders also displace the intermediate plate along the guide crosspiece in the closing and opening direction to vary its distance from the other end plate. The intermediate plate and the other end plate form a gripping plate for the two mold halves of a form tool which is brought into its closing position by the two gripping plates. Increased closing force may be applied to the form tool at a central die via a pressure cushion insertable between one end plate and the intermediate plate.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a shutter-type clamping device which is equipped with: a stationary platen; a movable platen; a base plate; a clamping piston which is lodged in a cylinder provided on the base plate and which has a hollow section; a protrusion provided on the movable platen and having configuration which allows it to enter the hollow section of the piston; and a shutter which allows or hinders the entry of the protrusion into the hollow section; the shutter being attached to the piston and arranged in such a manner as to be capable of moving forwards and backwards and incapable of rotating with respect to a member on the side of the base plate.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a mold clamp apparatus having a novel construction wherein, though the advance of the movable platen is blocked, it is possible to perform a powerful mold clamping operation as in case of a direct compression operation, and it is also possible to make a support of the movable platen accurate by connecting the tie bar to the fixed platen, and further it is also possible to perform a high-speed mold-closing operation and a powerful mold-clamping operation continuously.
Abstract:
A dual mold clamping apparatus, particularly useful for simultaneously closing two sets of molds and applying additional clamping pressure to one of the sets thereof, having special application in injection blow molding machines. This apparatus comprises mounting means, with extended portions, for the movable halves of each of the mold sets, the extended portions being attached to a common member which moves the movable mold halves in unison in the mold open and mold closed directions. The apparatus further includes selectively engagable means associated with the extended portions of the mold mounting means of one of the mold sets which selectively engagable means is in turn associated with additional mold clamping pressure resistance means and a hydraulic chamber with means for introducing high pressure hydraulic fluid therein for applying additional clamping force pressure through said selectively engagable means both to said additional clamping pressure resistance means and to the movable mold mounting means.
Abstract:
A molding press has hydraulic transporting means for rapidly moving a mold-supporting movable platen toward and away from a fixed mold-supporting platen. A hollow main piston is connected by coupling means with a connecting beam projecting from the movable platen to open and close the mold with great force. Before the transporting means retract the movable platen, the coupling means is withdrawn from the path of the beam so that the beam can enter the hollow piston whereby the length of the machine is reduced.
Abstract:
A device for driving the platen of a press, a piston mounted to slide in a cylinder unit, said piston being hydraulically driven, and another piston mounted to slide in a bore of the first piston, said second piston being securely fixed to said platen, and said first piston having means for locking said second piston in its bore, so that said platen can be subjected to a rapid positioning movement by the displacement of said second piston and to a slower movement by the displacement of said first piston when the latter is subjected to high pressure, the movement of said first piston being transmitted to said platen by said locking means.
