    摘要: On the sizing unit of a blow molding machine, one or more blow mandrels are mounted in blow mandrel holders and are centered in sizing plate openings. To obtain faster and more accurate centering, the blow mandrel holder has independently adjustable sleeve and flange parts. The sleeve adjusts axial location while the flange fixes radial location. Conical mandrel tips and sizing plate openings facilitate rapid alignment as the blow mandrels are lowered.

    摘要: A method for inflating a chamber in an article composed at least partially of polymer layers, such as thermoplastic layers, is provided. The methods can allow for forming an aperture in a polymer layer, inflating a chamber or volume in fluid communication with the aperture, and then sealing the chamber so that the inflation fluid is substantially retained in the chamber and/or does not escape via the aperture. The formation of the aperture, inflation of the chamber, and sealing of the chamber or aperture may be performed by a single tool and/or based on a single registration of the thermoplastic article with a tool. In some aspects, formation of the aperture is enabled in part by using a punch with a cupped surface that allows the top layer of a thermoplastic article to be breached without forming a hole in at least one lower layer.

According to this cutting pattern, the position, intensity and focal point of the laser may be controlled by the laser control system, which may comprise a focusing optic, a deflection means and a beam-forming means.

    摘要: An assembly and method are provided for inflating a parison within a mold and forming the neck portion of a plastic container in a blow molding apparatus. The assembly includes a blow pin assembly mounted to a blow rod. The blow pin assembly includes an exterior surface having an annular cutting edge. The blow rod is movable along a vertical axis. The blow pin assembly is constructed such that at the time the mold is opened, the bottom end thereof is substantially incapable of engaging the lip of the blown container even if it is released unevenly from the mold. This is preferably accomplished by providing a blow pin assembly having a bottom end that is either above the shear steels at the time the mold is opened to release the container or has a sufficiently small diameter that it will not engage the container lip.
