Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a grout for concrete comprising a stage of mixing a hydraulic binder and water, characterized in that the process comprises a stage of deep freezing the water in the solid form.
Abstract:
The apparatus for making cooled concrete of this invention produces cooled fresh concrete by cooling the aggregate (or gravel). The aggregate is cooled by immersion in a cooling water bath accommodated in a cooling water tank. The cooling water in the tank is cooled by a heat exchanger, which in turn is cooled by a forced cooling device. The aggregate is immersed into the cooling water bath by a supply and ejection apparatus, which also removes the cooled aggregate from the cooling water bath. The cooled aggregate is supplied to a cement mixer where it is mixed to become cooled fresh concrete.
Abstract:
In accordance with one embodiment, a method is provided that includes providing a liquid nitrogen storage system configured to cool a supply of liquid nitrogen to a temperature below the vapor point of liquid nitrogen; coupling a piping system with the liquid nitrogen storage system to convey a portion of the supply of liquid nitrogen from the liquid nitrogen storage system; coupling the piping system with a liquid nitrogen control valve configured to control a flow of liquid nitrogen to at least one liquid nitrogen dispensing head; disposing the at least one liquid nitrogen dispensing head above a conveyance device operable to convey an aggregate stream of a concrete batching plant during use; and disposing the at least one liquid nitrogen dispensing head in a position to dispense an output flow of liquid nitrogen onto the aggregate stream of the concrete batching plant during use.
Abstract:
The method for cooling a liquid (2) in which a coolant comprising a refrigeration-liquefied gas is introduced into the liquid (2) and the corresponding device (1) make possible, in an advantageously simple manner, the production of cooled liquids (2), which, for example, can be used as process water in the production of freshly mixed concrete. In this case the enthalpy content of the coolant, preferably of liquid nitrogen, is utilized in a good manner, by firstly using the vaporization enthalpy, and secondly the heating of the nitrogen after vaporization up to ice temperature, for cooling the liquid.
Abstract:
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO MANUFACTURING CONCRETES OR MORTARS AND IS CONCERNED WITH THE PROBLEM OF STORAGE OR TRANSPORTATION OF MATERIALS OF THIS KIND WHICH ARE MADE UP FROM A BINDER, AGGREGATE AND WATER, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INVENTION, THE MIXTURE OF THE AFOREMENTIONED MATERIALS INA PASTY STATE IS FROZEN AND, AFTER TRANSPORATATION ON APPROPRIATE LENGTH OF STORAGE, IS THAWED OUT TO RECONVERT THE MIXTURE INTO A PASTY STATE FOR USE.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for cooling aggregate are described. Systems and methods may include a drum. The drum may include an aggregate inlet; a plurality of buckets arranged in a ring around a circumference of the drum, and a plurality of rings arranged along the length of the drum, wherein each of the plurality of buckets has openings that open into the interior of the drum; one or more radial donuts or radial webs within the interior of the drum; an aggregate outlet; and a cooling air supply.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mobile apparatus and a method for concrete production, comprising a cooling apparatus for cooling bulk material, in particular aggregates for concrete production. The cooling apparatus (100) comprises a bulk material hopper (110), a wetting apparatus (120) and an air supply apparatus (130). The cooling apparatus has a bulk material feeder (140) for feeding bulk material into the bulk material hopper via a bulk material feeder path (141), the bulk material feeder and the wetting apparatus being adapted and disposed in such a way that bulk material to be fed comes into contact on at least one part of the bulk material feeder path with water that is being discharged from the wetting apparatus.
