摘要： A butt flare reducing apparatus for logs is provided. The apparatus includes a machine frame, a stator ring assembly fixedly coupled to the machine frame, and a flare reducing tool adjustment assembly movably coupled to the stator ring assembly. The apparatus further includes an actuator coupled on one end to the machine frame and on the other end to the flare reducing tool adjustment assembly to move the flare reducing tool adjustment assembly between the opposing end positions, and a rotor assembly rotatably coupled to the stator ring assembly. The rotor assembly includes a rotor frame and at least one flare reducing tool movably coupled to the rotor frame to translate linearly toward and away from a longitudinal axis of rotation in direct correlation to movement of the actuator and flare reducing tool adjustment assembly to adjust a log processing diameter. Related methods are also provided.

Thus, the support force exerted by the transfer elements on the pieces lying thereon, and the friction force between them and the pieces lying thereon, increase. At the same time, the support force that is exerted by second transfer elements situated lower with respect to the outermost transfer elements on the pieces lying thereon, and the friction between the second transfer elements and the pieces lying thereon, decrease.

The defrosting method of logs of the invention is based on bringing heat zone-specifically to logs in transfer motion on a conveyor according to their heat receiving capacity immediately from the moment of starting of the defrosting, and at the end of the defrosting process, the heat volume per time unit, supplied at a higher temperature, is only a part of the heat volume of the starting phase of the defrosting process. For instance, it is possible to spray water on the wood to be defrosted so that the row interval of the showers in the initial part of the piping is a fraction of the row interval in the tail end of the piping. In the tail end of the defrosting conveyor steam can also be supplied.

摘要： An apparatus for rounding the circumference of a wood log which is supported by two sets of three drive rollers at spaced points between the ends of the log to establish a geometrical center. A knife is positioned extending the length of the log for cutting off a portion of the log for rounding the circumference of the log. The lower rollers are connected together through a shock absorber to accommodate varying diameters and one roller of each set is connected together by a torsion bar. One of the lower rollers of each set is positioned upwardly relative to the other lower roller an amount for allowing the apparatus to provide a maximum yield from different diameter logs. The rollers are of a plurality of self-cleaning, rotatable drive discs. The apparatus may include debarking arms. And the apparatus may sort the rounded up logs by diameter size.
