The clamping element has an inner cylinder which surrounds the spindle to be clamped, an outer cylinder which is located coaxially to the inner cylinder, and a membrane which connects the inner cylinder to the outer cylinder. The clamping element is annular and roughly cup-shaped with an opening in the middle of the clamping element so that the inner cylinder surrounds the spindle to be clamped. The clamping element is shaped and arranged such that, by applying a force to the clamping element the curvature of the membrane can be changed.

    摘要: A turret tool rest (14) includes a turret (24) movably supported on a base (22), on which desired tools can be mounted at predetermined indexable angled positions. A pair of coupling elements (66, 68), which can be engaged with each other, are arranged between the base (22) and the turret (24). The coupling elements (66, 68) are moved between an engaged position at which they are mutually engaged to fixedly hold the turret at respective indexed positions on the base, and a disengaged position at which they are mutually disengaged to permit the turret to be rotationally indexed. A spring-loaded plunger unit (80) serves to prevent the turret (24) from freely rotating on the base (22),until the coupling elements (66, 68) are fully engaged with each other, during the moving operation of the coupling elements between the engaged and disengaged positions. The plunger unit (80) includes a plunger (84) retractably provided on the turret, a countersink (90) fixedly provided on the base to be engaged with the plunger when the turret is located at the engaged position, and a coil spring (86) or biasing the plunger to maintain the engagement between the plunger and the countersink.

    摘要: The apparatus comprises a chuck member to be mounted within the operating area of the machine tool and a work piece carrier that can be put onto the chuck member and clamped thereto. First positioning members provided on the chuck member and second positioning members provided on the work piece carrier cooperate to define the position of the work piece carrier along three coordinate axes each running perpendicular to each other as well as with regard to the angular orientation. A clamping mechanism fixes the work piece carrier member to the chuck member in the afore mentioned defined position. In order to ensure an increased resistance against tilting momenta and torque occurring during the machining of a work piece, the first positioning members are constituted by conical centering pins and the second positioning members are constituted by recesses in the shape of a two-stage groove having two shoulders.

    摘要: An indexing mechanism is provided to enable discrete angular displacement of a first body 10 relative to a second body 12. An intermediate body 22 is provided, and is rotatable relative to both the first and second bodies 10,12. Mutually engageable detent elements on the first and intermediate 10,22, and intermediate and second 22,12 bodies, provide indexing of the first body 10 relative to the intermediate body 22 and the intermediate body relative to the second body 12 respectively. The angular separations of adjacent indexed positions provided by the first and second sets of detent elements differ such that the first body 10 is indexable relative to the second body 12 in finer indexing increments than are provided by either the first or second detent elements individually. The detent elements may be provided by rings of gear teeth (Hirth Couplings), or circular arrays of elements providing mutually convergent surfaces (such as a ring of balls) that are engageable by three or more further elements (such as rollers).
