    摘要: The invention relates to tool mount with a base body and a receptacle that is joined with the base body for torque transmission and anchored in the base body in an axially movable manner with a spring preload. The base body exhibits a shank section with a recess that is open on the machine tool side, and a bushing section that axially lengthens the shank section, with a guide borehole that is open on the tool side and separated from the recess of the shank section by a radial dividing wall. The receptacle exhibits a guide section that is guided in the guide borehole of the bushing section in an axially movable manner. The receptacle is anchored by means of an anchor that passes through an axial opening in the radial dividing wall and can be actuated for setting the spring preload via the recess of the base body.

    摘要: A tool adapter assembly is provided for securing a machining tool, such as a tap, to a tool driving device. The tool adapter assembly is provided with one or more conduits extending from the portion which is connected to the tool driving device to the end of the tool adapter assembly adjacent to the tool such that a lubricant or coolant may be delivered through the conduits to the tool during the machining operation. Also disclosed is an extended tension/compression tap driver of limited diameter which includes a central bore disposed therethrough, such that when the above described tool adapter assembly is secured to the extended tension/compression tap driver, the coolant or lubricant can be supplied from the tap driver through the tool adapter assemby to the tool secured thereto.

    摘要: A tapping attachment particularly adapted for use with machines under numerical computer control. The attachment embodies tension cushion for the spindle by way of a tension spring as well as compression cushion for the spindle. The compression cushion is provided by way of an adjustable spring member which is in a bore of the spindle and which has a helical spring formed in it. The tension spring is on the inside of the compression spring member. The attachment as a whole is of relatively short overall length, adapting it for use in an automated system wherein attachments are automatically inserted in the machine and interchanged. The attachment embodies a hard start feature provided by way of releasable securement which will release the spindle for movement in response to predetermined axial force, so that in the case of a dull tap the automated movement of the attachment under computer control will be kept accurately programmed. In one form of the invention the releasable securement is between the spindle and the body of the attachment. In a second form of the invention the releasable securement is between the spindle and the compression spring member carried within the spindle.

    摘要: An adjustable tension and/or compression tap holder includes a shank adapted for rotative drive and longitudinal feed and mounting a drive socket at one end. A cylindrical carrier slidably nested within said socket and has a series of drive slots which receive a corresponding series of drive balls nested within said socket interconnecting said shank and carrier for rotation in unison and providing for longitudinal adjustment of the carrier relative to the socket. The carrier is adapted to receive a tap retaining bushing. A tension and compression adjusting screw is nested within said shank and at one end, loosely secured upon said carrier. A tension and compression adjusting nut is threaded into said shank and is interconnected with said screw so that rotation of the screw will effect longitudinal adjustment of the adjusting nut. The tension spring is interposed between said nut and said screw biasing the screw inwardly of the socket and an additional compression spring is interposed between said nut and carrier whereby longitudinal adjustment of the nut regulates the degree of tension and compression within the longitudinal scope of the carrier and connected screw relative to said shank and socket.
