In standardized mold making the structure of the mold is at present generally formed according to the following principle: A so-called clamping plate (1 to 3), having usually a larger width, is attached at the end of both half-molds and the other mold structure plates (4) are screwed thereto. The area of the clamping plate that projects the most on both sides is then used to connect the half-molds with the molding press. Thermal protection plates are often employed to minimize the heat transfer to the molding press. The thermal protection plates are commonly screwed onto the front surfaces of the clamping plates. This can lead to problems vis-a-vis the overall parallel alignment of the mold structures. The invention arises out of the underlying requirement to provide an optimal thermal protection over the entire equipment lifetime without limitations vis-a-vis the parallel alignment of the mold structures. This requirement is fulfilled in embodiments of the invention in that the clamping plate is provided as a multilayer composite panel having thermally-insulating steel components (2) and tool steel components (1) and (3), while the exterior sides are always made of tool steel.

[Problem] To provide a method and device that automatically detects misalignment during flask mating in an automatic flask mating device for molding flasks for casting.[Solution] In an automatic flask mating device, an external force applied to a cope with a cope molding flask M1 during flask mating is detected by means of a physical quantity detection sensor 60, quantified by a computation/storage/determination processing device 61, and then compared with a numerical value at a normal time for determination to thereby determine whether the flask mating has normally completed and detect flask mating misalignment. A force sensor is preferably used as the physical quantity detection sensor.

The plug member is formed generally in a top hat configuration and is disposed in a cavity formed in the blade, the plug member being retained in the desired sealing position by the leg members. The plug member broadly serves the purpose of sealing the hole that is in communication with the cavity. The plug member includes a substantially planar plate that is disposed adjacent the internal first surface of a wall of the turbine blade and a retention member that is received in the hole. The first and second leg members are fixedly mounted, such as by welding, on the plug member and are at least partially disposed adjacent and overlap a second opposite and external surface of the wall.

The molding machine includes a lifter table (11) for vertically carrying the master plate (9) and the flask (7), a filling frame (4) disposed for vertical movement above the lifter table (10), and a reinforcing frame (5) disposed for vertical movement between the filling frame (4) and the lifter table (10). The reinforcing frame (5) and the flask (7) are adapted to approach each other such that the reinforcing frame (5) contacts the outer surface of the flask (7) to reinforce it.
