Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an integrated aluminum alloy bicycle front fork is revealed. Aluminum alloy is extruded to form substrate having three rectangular bars. Cut the substrate to get a blank. The blank is set into a mold for forging the three rectangular bars into three round bars. Then burr and waste material are removed. Next the blank is set into another mold for extruding the three round bars and the three round bars are punched to have guide holes. The round bars are drilled along the guide holes and penetrated to form round tubes. A tube opening of two round tubes is flattened and narrowed. Then the two round tubes are bent downward to form fork tubes of a front fork. The rest tube forms a front fork stem. Thereby an integrated light weighted front fork with good structural strength and beautiful appearance is produced.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a die forged crankshaft to be mounted in a two or more cylinder reciprocating apparatus includes: an upsetting step that includes upsetting a billet having a constant cross-sectional area along an entire length thereof to form a blank having an enlarged cross-sectional area at a region between a portion to be formed into a leading crank arm of the crankshaft and a portion to be formed into a trailing crank arm thereof; a die forging step that includes die forging the blank formed in the upsetting step to form a forged blank having a shape of the crankshaft with a flash; and a trimming step that includes trimming the flash from the forged blank formed in the die forging step. This makes it possible to improve the material utilization and to use a billet having a cross-sectional size as small as possible.
Abstract:
A hot forging press machine includes a fixed lower die, a vertically movable upper die, a punching blade for punching, and a deburring blade. The deburring blade includes a deburring upper blade and a deburring lower blade to perform deburring. The deburring upper blade is fixed to a lower portion of the upper die, and the lower blade is fixed to an upper portion of the lower die. A lower sweeping plate urged upward by a spring is slidably fitted to an outer circumference of the lower blade to perform deburring, and an upper sweeping plate of the upper die presses an entirety of an upper surface of a flange portion of a pressed product to perform the discharging.
Abstract:
An apparatus (10) for forming an article by forging. The apparatus comprises at least one die (12) having a die cavity (14) to receive material, said material (16) being at least partially molten, and at least one punch (20) adapted to slidably engage the die cavity and to exert a forming pressure on material disposed in the cavity. There is also at least one pin (24) for forming an article feature. The pin is adapted to slidably engage the die and to contact the material, the pin being further adapted to recede upon exertion of the forming pressure and to exert a feature forming pressure when receded and thereby form the article (30) having the article feature when the material solidifies under the forming pressure.
Abstract:
A method of head trimming a fastener blank in a cold-forging process comprises placing a fastener blank into a bore of a punch having an end face; supporting an underside of a head portion of the fastener blank with the punch end face; moving a die having an internal passage and a trim plate with a cutting edge toward the fastener blank; shearing the head of the fastener blank with the cutting edge of the trim plate; stopping movement of the die at an extended trim position where the cutting edge lies beyond an underside of the head portion of the fastener blank; ejecting the fastener blank from the punch bore and through the die passage to an opposite side of the die; retracting the die; and removing a scrap ring from around the punch by a stripper sleeve.
Abstract:
A method is provided for producing a crank arm for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, wherein the crankshaft is composed of separately produced parts. The crank arm is stamped out of a semifinished part and has a central recess for receiving a shaft journal of the crankshaft, and has an eccentrically disposed recess for receiving a crankshaft pin. A peripheral contour of the stamped part delimits a flywheel member of the crank arm. A recessed surface portion is formed or stamped in the crank arm in an area surrounding the central recess.
