Abstract:
A robotic apparatus for painting a workpiece includes a redundant axis robot for use in a robotic painting system. The redundant axis of rotation provides the robot arm additional flexibility in avoiding obstacles and reaching an interior of the workpiece to apply paint thereto. The robotic apparatus could be a seven-axis robot arm or a five-axis parallel link panel opener robot arm for opening and/or closing the panel. The robot arms are mounted on at least one vertically oriented column adjacent a path of travel of the workpiece through a painting booth and the robot arms can be mounted on a common base.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a painting system which comprises a painting device (121) in the painting chamber (103), said painting device comprising a casing (113) that surrounds the workpiece support (107) such that paint droplets that are not deposited onto the workpieces are dripped onto the casing to a large extent and can thus be reused.
Abstract:
A powder coating system which is provided with a rotating stage which makes a metal cylindrical member rotate while holding its internal circumferential surface, a first booth which covers part of the metal cylindrical member which is held by the rotating stage, and a second booth which holds the first booth. A powder coating introduction nozzle which is provided with a filling port of powder coating and a plurality of powder coating spray ports is provided so that a filling port is positioned at the outside of the second booth and so that the plurality of spray ports can be changed in position in the first booth to face surface parts of the metal cylindrical member. The sprayed powder coating is collected inside the second booth by a flow of air from a blow device and is removed by being sucked up by a powder collector.

Abstract:
A painting booth includes doors at one end through which a vehicle can enter. A dual section ramp always contained entirely within the booth has a fixed grid section located at an end of the booth, opposite the door, and a moveable section connected to the fixed section and located just inwardly of the door. A filter layer is attached to the fixed section for filtering air circulating downwards there through. A protective grate located in a lower wall section, below the moveable section, provides lateral protection against the introduction of foreign matter into the booth. Powered jacks, located underneath the moveable section of the ramp actuates the moveable section between inclined and horizontal positions. A retractable prop connected to an underside of the moveable section supports the weight of a vehicle when the moveable section is retained in the horizontal position.
Abstract:
A device for spraying and baking panels within a single automated unit. The spray booth and baking environment are differentially pressurized and purged such that the unit can be located with an environment which is electrically classified as hazardous for flammable materials. Parameters unique for processing materials to be used are programmed into a control computer. Mounted within the spray chamber is an emissions reduction attachment which collects paint and wash liquids used in purging the spray gun during the spray cycles. Significant increase in the useful life of materials collecting paint overspray and a decrease in airborne emissions can thereby be achieved.
Abstract:
A coating device for coating a cathode-ray tube with a layer has a booth for accommodating a cathode-ray tube to be coated. The booth houses a coating robot with a spray nozzle for spraying a coating solution onto the cathode-ray tube in the booth to coat a layer on the cathode-ray tube. The inner wall surfaces of the booth are lined with a water-containing member which is supplied with water from a water supply pipe connected to the booth. An air-conditioning unit is mounted on the booth for controlling the temperature and humidity in the booth. The cathode-ray tube is introduced into the booth from a conveyor through an opening defined in a wall of the booth and fitted with a selectively closable door.
Abstract:
Washers for cleansing metal parts, filters, quartz tubes and the like are either drum washers, or washers in the form of cabinets equipped with sprays. Industrial washers are washers adapted for assembly line cleaning of metal parts. Separate treating zones lead to the highly cleaned metal surfaces required by many coating processes. A conveying means is usually installed in the ceilings or floors of such washers for continuous transport of fabricated metal articles therethrough, and tanks are disposed in the base of such washers. Chemical cleaning agents utilized in industrial spray washers have a significant corrosive effect on the washer equipment. Herein a life-extending solution to the corrosion problem is provided. Plastic panels are carried by framework members to form a housing over the tanks, spray assemblies and drain areas. A feature herein is the provision of framework members in the form of elongated expansion seals carrying the plastic panels while permitting expansion and contraction of the panels without buckling, without leakage or loss of seal despite differences in rates of thermal expansion of plastic and metal.
Abstract:
A cleaning tank comprised of a fluid container, an air-driven motor, a drive shaft, a filtered submersible pump, fluid transport conduits and outlet nozzles is disclosed. Supports are provided for workpieces to be cleaned.
Abstract:
A coating hood for applying coating fluid to vitreous articles such as bottles or the like. Coating fluid is applied through a plurality of coating manifolds within the hood, and these manifolds on opposite sides of the hood are offset with respect to each other so as to avoid creating a zone of fluid stagnation within the hood.
