    摘要: A fluid processing method includes extraction that can extract material to be extracted continuously with high efficiency. A thin film fluid is formed between at least two processing surfaces disposed facing each other so as to be able to approach to and separate from each other such that at least one rotates relative to the other. A fluid processing extracts at least one kind of material to be extracted in at least one kind of the extraction solvent that can extract that material to be extracted. The fluid containing material to be extracted and a fluid for extraction that contains the extraction solvent are mixed in the thin film fluid formed between the processing surfaces, and a fluid processing process extracts the material to be extracted into the extraction solvent.

    摘要: An extraction apparatus including an extraction device for facilitating the mixing of a predetermined volume of immiscible liquids and subsequently separating and dispensing a selected one of the liquids. The apparatus includes a tubular member with an extraction chamber which communicates with a collection chamber through a U-tube, the relative location of the extraction chamber, the collection chamber and the U-tube enabling such mixing and enabling the selected liquid to be passed subsequently from the extraction chamber to the collection chamber by manipulation of the tubular member. Further manipulation of the tubular member enables the collected selected liquid to be dispensed to a test tube while the remaining unwanted liquid is drained from the extraction chamber. A plurality of extraction devices enable multiple mixing and separating operations to be performed simultaneously in a single apparatus by a single operator.

    摘要: A counter-double-current device having an array of interconnected tube elements, each of the elements having a mixing tube, a light phase decant tube and an intermediate phase decant tube. The light and intermediate phase decant tubes are disposed parallel to the mixing tube with the intermediate phase decant tube positioned between the light phase decant tube and the mixing tube. A first juncture tube joins the mixing tube and light phase decant tube while a second juncture tube joins the light and intermediate phase decant tubes. First and second downspout tubes are sealably mounted within the lower portions of the two decant tubes. The first downspout tube extends into the light phase decant tube from its lower portion to a distance which defines a volume between the inner surface of the light phase decant tube and the outer surface of the first downspout tube equal to the combined volumes of the heavy and intermediate phases while the second downspout tube extends into the intermediate phase decant tube by a distance so as to define a volume equal to the volume of the lower phase. The downspout tube extending into the light phase decant tube is connected to the lower portion of the mixing tube of an adjacent element on one side of the array while the downspout tube which extends into the intermediate phase decant tube is connected to the mixing tube of an adjacent element on the opposite side within the array.
