Abstract:
A word game playing piece having at least one gravity-stable playing position, at least one gravity-unstable playing position, and a holder that supports the playing piece in its gravity-unstable position. The playing piece is provided with word game indicia, concealed when the playing piece is in its gravity-stable playing position, and revealed when the playing piece is supported in its gravity-unstable playing position by the holder. The player piece is automatically self-righting from gravity-unstable to gravity-stable position to minimize the exposure of its indicia to view.
Abstract:
A tabletop game for head-to-head competition including a platform having a curved path. The game includes a plurality of knock-down objects configured to be knocked down by a ball. The ball includes a weighting that is off center from a geometric center of the ball causing the ball to roll in a non-linear path.
Abstract:
Apparatus for playing a ball game, comprising a playing surface, a plurality of balls having an eccentric distribution of mass, and means for initiating rolling movement of the balls in a way which preserves the orientation of the eccentricity of mass distribution of the ball with respect to a rolling axis thereof.
Abstract:
A die is configured in a hollow spherical configuration which is composed of two interlocked but separable hemisphere sections, and set within the hollow sphere is a hollow orientation piece having apertures within its wall and a selection member such as a ball freely movably therein. upon rolling the sphere, the selection member will randomly fall into one of the selected apertures in the internal orientation member which will thereupon cause a given portion of the surface of the sphere located 180 degrees from the selected aperture to face upwardly. If various numbers are inscribed upon the surface of the sphere, the sphere can be used as a die, with the drawn number being located at the position on the surface of the sphere opposite to the aperture of the internal orientation member into which the selection member fell.
Abstract:
The current document is directed to gaming dice, including physical dice and virtual dice represented on an electronic display or viewing screen. Certain of the currently disclosed gaming dice have approximately ovoid, prolate spheroid, or ellipsoid shapes that are modified to include planar surfaces. Other of the disclosed gaming dice have angular shapes, including cubes, tetrahedrons, octahedrons, and other regular shapes that are modified to provide nonuniform probabilities of position landings.
