Abstract:
A negative pressure massage apparatus includes a vacuum pump, two solenoid valves and a control board. The vacuum pump is used to generate a negative pressure outside the negative pressure massage apparatus. Two solenoid valves are used to control a gas flow input into the negative pressure massage apparatus. The control board is used to activate or stop at least one of the vacuum pumps, and the two solenoid valves. The present disclosure further includes a method of using the negative pressure massage apparatus.
Abstract:
Foot care devices include a battery-powered vibration motor disposed inside a water-tight housing, a foot treatment element attached to the upper surface of the housing, and surface immobilizing suction cups attached to the bottom of the housing to inhibit positional movement of the device during use. Foot treatment elements have exfoliating pumice, massaging protuberances, and/or cleaning bristles and vibrate during operation of the motor. Cushioning pads between the upper surface of the housing and the attached foot treatment element reduce rattling noises during operation of the motor. Foot treatment elements also have drain holes extending therethrough and the housing has a drain channel for draining water off the upper surface. The devices can also have one or more stabilizing platform extending therefrom. Foot pressure applied to the platform during operation further reduces positional movement. Foot care kits can have a plurality of interchangeable foot treatment elements.
Abstract:
An elevation device used in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes a base and an upper support pivotably coupled to the base. The upper support is configured to elevate the individual's upper back, shoulders and head when pivoted. The upper support is expandable lengthwise. The upper support includes a neck support that is configured to support the individual's spine in a region of the individual's C7 and C8 vertebrae throughout elevation of the upper back, shoulders and head.
Abstract:
A plunger adapter and a detachable compression pad for piston driven chest compression devices optimizes the application of chest compressions to a fixed location on a patient's chest. The detachable compression pad may be removably secured to the patient above the patient's sternum to ensure that the compression pressure from the piston through the piston adapter is applied to a fixed location on the patient's chest. As the plunger and plunger adapter retract from the chest, the compression pad remains fixed to the patient's chest, and as the plunger and plunger adapter extend from the chest compression unit for subsequent compression strokes, the distal end of the plunger adapter reengages the compression pad to apply compression to a fixed location on the patient's chest.
Abstract:
Disclosed are lactation assistive devices. The lactation assistive device may include a stimulation component and a controller. The stimulation component may include electrical components or mechanical components to stimulate a breast. The stimulation component may be sized to fit within a garment worn about the breast and may define an opening to be located proximate a nipple of the breast when the garment is worn. The controller may be configured to control stimulation of the breast by the stimulation component.
Abstract:
The present invention is a method for improving hemodynamics and clinical outcome of patients suffering cardiac arrest and other low-flow states by combination of circumferential constriction and anteroposterior compression decompression of the chest cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Anteroposterior compression decompression may be provided by a piston mechanism attached to a gantry above the patient. Circumferential constriction may be achieved by inflation of pneumatic bladders or shortening of a band. The on-off sequence and relative force of circumferential constriction and anteroposterior compression decompression may be adjusted so as to improve efficacy.
Abstract:
A portable hydro massage device for submersion in a body of water containing a female user, i.e. a bathtub, provides a local massage to the labium region and a focused stimulant to the female user's clitoris thereby resulting in a superior sensation to the entire body promoting an overall euphoric state and calming effect. The apparatus employs a saddle shaped housing, where the buttocks are placed, and a saddle horn for controlling the stimulus. Disposed within the midsection of the saddle horn is a hydro jet with a driven flow from a circulating water pump that draws suction from the main body of water. The hydro jet is adjustable in pressure and a method is provided for aeration of the water discharged to allow for a rhythmic pulsation effect. The saddle horn may be held and the lower body positioned as needed to focus the discharged stream from the hydro jet to the desired point of the pelvic region.

Abstract:
The present invention provides improved oculomotor testing devices and pain tolerance testing devices. Certain oculomotor testing devices test parameters including response time, reaction time, and movement time, as well as precision. The devices are adapted for ambulatory as well as semi-ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals. Methods of using the devices are provided wherein a visual stimulus is provided and the individual is instructed to perform a movement specific to that visual stimulus. Preferably, the device records the movement done in response to the visual stimulus and, with the aid of a computing device, factors out errors and measures the desired parameter. One embodiment of the present invention permits a user to observe a real-time visual feedback of the force exerted on a load cell. The individual can increase or decrease the amount of force exerted in response to the display of force on a visual feedback monitor. Such a device can measure the pain tolerance of an individual by correlating the length of time the individual can maintain a certain exerted force on the load cell with their tolerance for pain.
Abstract:
A spa pool assembly has a pool that has an enclosing wall defining an interior. The assembly further includes a jet nozzle unit removably coupled to the enclosing wall and positioned in the interior, the jet nozzle unit housing a plumbing system and at least one jet nozzle. The assembly further includes a control unit that houses a pump that is coupled to the jet nozzle unit. Alternatively, a pump unit is removably received inside a channel provided in the wall and has a jet nozzle that is directed at the interior of the pool when the pump unit is received inside the channel. The jet nozzle unit, the control unit, the pump unit and the pool are separate modular units that can be assembled together quickly and conveniently.
