Abstract:
A unique garment designed to aid healing of minor skin ailments such as diaper rash. A urine absorbent, air flow permeable undergarment (1) may contain a barrier (4) to absorb urine and even an open back (5) such as for example a cutout in the back portion (3) a garment that may maximize airflow to the buttocks and groin. In some embodiments, a garment may not be a diaper and may not be designed to contain multiple urinations. In some embodiments, such as in a reusable form, the garment may be designed with a disposable pad capable of containing one or more urinations, then the disposable pad may be replaced. In yet another embodiment, a disposable garment may be provided so that after urination, the entire garment may be thrown away.
Abstract:
A fluid-distributing structure includes a flexible body having a plurality of fluid reservoirs defined therein, and a plurality of directional fluid barriers. The fluid reservoirs are fluidly connected to one another by openings defined within the body. Each fluid barrier is associated with one of the openings defined in the body, and is configured to permit fluid flow through the opening in a downstream direction and inhibit fluid flow through the opening in an upstream direction.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an absorbent article including a topsheet, a backsheet, a core, a discrete barrier member, a first cuff, and a second cuff. A barrier substrate may be cut into a discrete barrier member including a leading edge portion, an opposing trailing edge portion, and a central portion therebetween. The discrete barrier substrate may be transferred onto a folding roll. A first cuff substrate and a second cuff substrate may be advanced onto the folding roll such that the discrete barrier substrate may be disposed on at least a portion of the first cuff substrate and the second cuff substrate. The discrete barrier member may include a fold between the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion. A topsheet substrate may associate with at least a portion of the discrete barrier member, the first cuff substrate, and the second cuff substrate.
Abstract:
An diaper is disclosed. The diaper may have a topsheet, backsheet and absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet; a pair of longitudinal side edges, a pair of longitudinally extending barrier cuffs, and a transverse separator connecting the barrier cuffs in a crotch region of the diaper, between a front region and a back region. Each barrier cuff may have a proximal attached edge and a distal edge. The distal edge may be attached to the diaper at a distal edge attachment point in the front or rear region. The transverse separator may be attached to the barrier cuff at a separator attachment point. The separator attachment point may be located a first distance from the proximate longitudinal side edge and the distal edge attachment point may be located a second distance from the same longitudinal side edge; and the first distance may be greater than the second distance.

Abstract:
An absorbent article configured to ensure that even when the excreted urine diffuses by running down the wearer's skin, the skin is prevented from remaining wetted. In the absorbent article of the present invention, when an artificial urine is dropped and absorbed in the urination region of the crotch region, where an absorbent sheet is not disposed, the return amount of the artificial urine in the buttock region of the rear waist region, where an absorbent sheet is disposed, takes a value of 200 times less than the return amount of the artificial urine in the urination region; and the return amount of the artificial urine in the buttock region when the artificial urine is dropped and absorbed in the buttock region takes a value of 0.7 or less of the return amount of the artificial urine in the urination region when the artificial urine is dropped and absorbed in the urination region.
Abstract:
A disposable pull-on type diaper has a separator interposed between an inner surface of an absorbent chassis and the wearer's skin so as to protect the diaper wearer's skin from being soiled with feces. The separator is formed by a piece of sheet extending from a bottom of a crotch region of the diaper toward a front waist region and a rear waist region and fixed to lateral edges of the crotch region. The piece of sheet has a front end and a rear end both extending in a transverse direction of the crotch region. These front end and rear end are free along middle segments thereof as viewed in the transverse direction of the crotch region from an inner surface of an absorbent chassis and inseparably integrated with each other.
Abstract:
An absorbent article having a backsheet, an absorbent core, a topsheet, and a genital coversheet. The topsheet has an opening positioned to allow exuded fecal material to pass therethrough when the article is worn by a wearer. The genital coversheet is positioned across a portion of the aperture and covers the wearer's genitals. A void space is formed between the genital coversheet and the absorbent core and a void space is formed between the topsheet and the absorbent core.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to an absorbent article, preferably a diaper or training pants, having a backsheet, an absorbent core and a topsheet, provided with at least one opening adapted to receive fecal material, comprising also a genital coversheet, which in use covers the genitals, and which is positioned in, under or above part of the opening, such that a void space can be created between the genital coversheet and the absorbent core and such that a void space is present between the topsheet and the absorbent core.
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent article having an expandable component. The expandable component can be inflatable, and includes a gas evolving material and an activating material separated from the gas evolving material by a breakable barrier. The barrier is broken to combine the materials and inflate the component at the point of use of the disposable absorbent article. The inflatable component can include a spacer for maintaining a fecal void space in a disposable absorbent article.
