    Abstract: A bottom supporting shelf allocation and management system for allocating shelf space among rows of products comprises a plurality of adjacent shelf allocating and managing units. Each unit is associated with at least one row of products. Each unit includes a base extending to a shelf depth and supporting the row(s) of products, an integral perpendicular side divider attached to the side edge of the base, an open side of the base opposite the base side to which the side divider is attached, a puller that travels in a channel on the base and along the length of the base, a backstop attached to the rear of the puller extending laterally across the surface of the base which is configured to make selectively contact a rearmost product resting on the base and push the row of products on the base forward in sympathy to the puller forward movement.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of multidirectional robotic shelf restocking are performed. In one exemplary embodiment, a multidirectional robotic shelf restocking apparatus is configured to operate in first and second adjoining regions. The first region being above or below the second region defined by opposing stocked shelf structures. The apparatus includes a vertical motion mechanism and a corresponding vertical motion drive operable to move the vertical motion mechanism in a vertical direction. Further, the apparatus includes an arm member and a corresponding rotational motion drive operable to rotate the arm member between the stocked shelf structures and a corresponding linear motion drive operable to linearly extend and retract the arm member. In addition, the apparatus includes an end effector coupled to the arm member and configured to transfer an item from the first region to the second region by the motion of the vertical motion mechanism and the arm member.

    Abstract: A shelving system includes a shelving unit with at least one open sidewall that provides access to an interior of the shelving unit and one or more inserts that can be selectively connected to and disconnected from an interior of the unit in order to compartmentalize the interior of the unit. This enables a user to separate, sort and store items in the interior in an orderly fashion. The at least one open sidewall also serves to display the items stored in the unit. The shelving unit can be attached to a supporting wall in order to be located at desirable height to facilitate storage and display of the items stored therein.

    Abstract: A shelving assembly, held on an associated support surface, includes an elongated cooperating member including a first end and an opposite second end. A front rail is adapted to operably connect to the first end of the cooperating member and a rear rail is adapted to operably connect to the second end of the cooperating member. The rear rail includes at least one flexible member configured to abut a bottom surface of the cooperating member to retard a lateral movement of the cooperating member in a relation to at least the rear rail.
