The chair is characterized in that one row of posts along one edge of the metal base comprises posts of a height greater than other posts, and forms a backrest for the chair, and in that the remaining matrix of posts, of a lesser height than the posts forming the backrest, are of a common height, and form a seat surface for the chair.

    摘要： A piece of furniture includes a rectangular frame for supporting a plurality of sinuous springs. A plurality of clip assemblies are secured to opposed side walls of the frame. Each clip assembly comprises a metallic clip having tabs for holding a plastic liner inside a curved portion of the clip assembly. Each clip assembly also has a detent which inhibits movement of the sinuous spring and has tacks for insertion into the frame. Flexible connectors may be located in grooves of the clip assembly to collate multiple clip assemblies.

    摘要： A drop-in spring unit seat assembly includes a top grid spaced from a bottom grid having conical springs positioned therebetween. The conical springs are snap-fit for attachment to the top grid and/or bottom grid and require no mechanical fasteners nor complicated tools for such attachment. A pair of opposed detents are formed in the top and/or bottom turns of the spring and/or the detents formed in grid wires extending on the top and/or bottom grid. The opposed detent in the springs snap-fit engage with the depressions in the grid wires and a plurality of springs are interposed between the top grid and bottom grid to form the spring unit assembly. In selected embodiments, the spring unit includes multiple bottom grids attached via springs to a single top grid. The assembled spring unit can be dropped into a chair, seat or other article of furniture for attachment to and support by a pair of spaced frame members of the chair or other article of furniture.

    摘要： Corrugated plastic springs are substituted for metal coil springs in a chair, sofa, or the like. An annular flange is at the bottom of the spring and has a radial slot therein. A base tray support has a plurality of openings for receiving a respective spring therein. Each opening has a radial slot merging thereinto. One may insert the flange into the base tray slot and insert the edge of an opening into the slot on the flange and rotate the spring until the entire flange has proceeded under the base tray to provide a connection between the spring and base tray. A flexible spacer member is provided to keep the springs spaced from each other. The spacer member has a plurality of openings each receiving a top of a respective one of the springs therethrough.
