Abstract:
A ring includes a toroid having an inner portion. An adaptive force region is extending from the inner portion. The adaptive force region is operable to exhibit non-Hookean deformation.
Abstract:
A jewelry item comprises a ring-shaped spring; a ring-shaped chain comprising a plurality of chain links wherein each chain link is slidably attached to the support element; each chain link comprises a plate having a first surface facing the spring and a second surface opposite to the first surface; a seat and a hook opposite to each other, the hook is inserted into a seat of a subsequent chain link so as to lock the chain links to each other while allowing the chain links to reversibly slide from a contact position to a distanced position with respect to each other.
Abstract:
A ring re-sizing attachment is appended to the internal circumference of a ring band so that a ring band large enough to pass over a knuckle remains comfortably fit around the digital finger below the knuckle. The attachment includes two or more telescoping buttons joined to a base, with a conical spring urging the buttons away from the base. The spring is compressed and the buttons urged together to increase the space within the band to move the band beyond a knuckle. Once the band is beyond the knuckle, the spring urges the buttons away from the base to tighten the fit of the ring band around the finger.
Abstract:
An adjustable finger ring may include a ring head having through holes on the bottom a first shank having shank collars as support at one end and a split portion at the other end, and a second shank having shank collars as support at one end and a split portion at the other end. The split portions may complement and overlap each other in an operative condition of the ring. A spring can be fitted inside the two supports with the coils of the spring aligned with the holes of the support of the first shank so as to allow a pin to pass through. The inward facing surfaces of the collars of the second shank may confront the outward facing surfaces of the collars of the first shank. The holes of the collars can be aligned so as to allow the pin to pass through. The two shanks may be hinged together and act as a spring clasp.
Abstract:
A jewellery item, or a gold, silver, or costume jewellery item, accessories and the like include an annular band having a predetermined width and a plurality of modular elements of an elongated shape, at least one of the modular elements being connected to at least three additional modular elements by at least three connection points, the modular elements being hinged with each other about each connection point such that the jewellery item is adjustable between a contracted condition and an extended condition, wherein the width has different values along the overall extension of the jewellery item.

Abstract:
The present invention concerns generally with devices and methods for adjusting a finger ring size, and, more particularly, with a finger ring size-adjusting device that comprises no moving parts, and a method for adjusting the size of said finger ring using said device without a need for cutting or otherwise altering said ring. The device and the method of its use allow performing size adjustments without compromising the integrity of the ring. The device can be quickly added, adjusted or removed by any jeweler and without cutting, drilling or modifying the original design of the ring.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for adjusting the ring size of a ring is disclosed. In some embodiments, the ring includes a frame having at least one groove, and at least one size adjustment insert having at least one tongue configured to be removably engaged with the at least one groove. In some embodiments, the at least one size adjustment insert is inserted into the frame.
Abstract:
In the context of a personal ornament, e.g., a finger ring, in which decorative member(s) is/are attached to cord loop(s), making size(s) of loop(s) variable creates the impression of a lighter grip and improves fit. Finger ring 10 has a cord 11 made of transparent silicone rubber, support member 12, and decorative member 13. Cord 11 is coiled in spiral fashion for two revolutions, forming two loops 11A and 11B. One end 11C of cord 11 is secured to through-hole 12AB of support member 12. A portion near the middle of cord 11 is inserted through through-hole 12CD of support member 12, and is capable of moving within through-hole 12CD. The other end 11D of cord 11 is secured within through-hole 12EF of support member 12. The two loops 11A and 11B of the cord are inserted through decorative member 13, and cord 11 is capable of moving within decorative member 13. Absolute and relative sizes of the two loops 11A and 11B of cord 11 change automatically in correspondence to changes in finger thickness.
Abstract:
A ring (1) defines a seat (3) for being worn on a finger and has an adapter device (10) capable of automatically adjusting the diameter of the seat (3); the adapter device (10) is provided with at least one arm (11) coupled to a structure (2) of the ring (1) so as to move between a retracted position and a forward position with respect to the centre of the seat (3); the arm (11) is pushed to the forward position by at least one elongated spring (22), which substantially extends in a circumferential direction and has a first end portion (23) fixed to either the structure (2) or the arm (11), and a second end portion (28), opposite to the first (23) and arranged resting against the other (2) of either the structure or the arm.
