摘要： Disclosed is a cylinder-retaining apparatus for a breathing apparatus comprising first and second fixing point and a strap apparatus secured to the first fixing point and the second fixing point. The strap apparatus forms a main strap loop for extending around and securing one or more cylinders. The cylinder-retaining apparatus is configurable in: i) an expanded configuration in which the main strap loop provides a first effective length for securing a first number of cylinders; and ii) a contracted configuration in which a portion of a strap of the strap apparatus is folded to form a secondary strap loop and the secondary strap loop is secured to a third fixing point such that the main strap loop forms a second effective length which is shorter than the first effective length and for securing a second number of cylinders less than the first number of cylinders.

摘要： A lace tensioning device includes a housing component having an interior region, a first aperture, and a second aperture, and a spool component that is rotatably positionable within the interior region of the housing component. The spool component has a central cylindrical member and a lumen that extends through the central cylindrical portion. The spool component is rotatable within the interior region of the housing component to align one end of the lumen with the first aperture and to align an opposite end of the lumen with the second aperture to enable a lace to be inserted through the first aperture, the lumen, and the second aperture so that opposing ends of the lace are positioned exterior to the housing component. A knot may then be tied in the lace and the lace retracted to couple the lace with the housing component and spool component.

摘要： A collar useful in animal care, which includes a closure connector and a flexible belt having a free end and distal therefrom a thickened knob. Anchored within the connector's frame, the knob is disposed contiguous with a narrow slot formed therein through which all of the belt, except the knob, is initially threaded. Once looped back around the connector's frame, the free end is pushed through the frame until it re-emerges therefrom. With the collar adjusted to provide a snug fit, one can then activate a closure mechanism, in which the foot of an arm pivotally connected to the frame clamps a short portion of the belt, across its entire transverse width, against the frame. When the belt is so clamped, pulling on it increases forces pressing the foot against the belt. Cast from a silicon rubber/phosphorescent additive mixture, the belt exhibits luminescent properties, making it visible in the dark.

In contrary, the band can be constricted by pulling the ends of the band while the protruding buttons are free of pressure.

The harness adjustment system includes a first webbing strap, a winding reel, a cable tension member, and a strap lock. The winding reel is secured to a first portion of the strap. The cable is interconnected between a second portion of the strap and the winding reel. The cable loops from the strap to the reel such that winding of the reel retracts the cable to pull the second portion of the strap toward the first portion. The lock is coupled to the first strap second portion. The lock is selectively engageable with the second portion of the strap to relieve tension from the cable. Both cam and plate locks are disclosed.

摘要： A self-locking tensioning bar usable for tightening a cord utilized to encircle a relatively large object, such tensioning bar being elongate and having first and second ends, with a longitudinally disposed slot disposed in the first end. A spaced pair of holes for receiving the cord are disposed in an offset relationship in the bar, with one of the cord-receiving holes located near the outer end of the slot, and consequently near the first end of the tensioning bar. One end of the cord is secured in the one cord-receiving hole, with the cord then extending around the relatively large object, and thence back through the other cord-receiving hole. The cord is brought to an initial degree of tension while the bar is residing in a substantially perpendicular relationship to the object, with the first end of the bar closely adjacent the large object, following which the cord is then anchored to maintain such initial degree of tension. Upon the tensioning bar thereafter being bent from the perpendicular relationship into a position flat against the object and in essential parallelism with the tensioned cord, the cord is caused, because of the offset relationship of the holes, to be brought into a final degree of tension around the object. The bar is then moved to a locking relationship, to achieve a locking of the cord in the finally tensioned condition.

摘要： A buckle of the type used to connect belts used for tying down cargo in vehicles. The buckle is formed of flat plate stock and has a structure adapted to withstand high compressive forces such as are applied to it when it is run over by loaded vehicles. The buckle operates on an overcenter principle, so that once it is locked further tension on the belts tends to keep the buckle locked. In using the buckle, initially the free end of one belt is threaded through the buckle and pulled to take up slack. The free end is jammed between the standing end of the belt and a portion of the buckle, preventing slippage. Next, the handle of the buckle is rotated approximately 180 degrees, which causes the standing part of the belt to be wound around the buckle, thereby placing the belt in tension. Towards the end of its throw, the handle of the buckle passes to an overcenter position, in which further tension in the belt locks the buckle more securely. A safety catch is provided to insure against accidental opening of the buckle in case the cargo shifts.
