Abstract:
An arrangement for processing poultry has at least one overhead conveying device which is designed for conveying the poultry with a predefined conveying speed, which forms a conveyor line and is configured for transporting the poultry suspended by the legs. A plurality of processing stations are arranged along the conveyor line. The conveyor line has processing conveyor portions at each of the processing stations for processing poultry, and at least two of the processing portion lengths of each of the processing conveyor portions are configured to be controlledly variable. A method for processing poultry is also provided.
Abstract:
When stunning animals e.g. by CO2-stunning aversive reactions may be seen among the animals as a reaction to the high concentration of CO2. To avoid the aversive reactions animals can be pre-stunned before being final-stunned and perhaps killed or slaughtered when stunned. Pre-stunning of animals may be performed with a combination of gas for pre-stunning comprising at least air and/or O2 together with CO2 e.g. in a concentration below 40%, at least air and/or O2 together with N2O, or at least air and/or O2 together with N2O and CO2, where CO2 may bi in a concentration below 40%. For larger animals such as pigs pre-stunning is performed for less than 60 seconds. A stunning system may comprise means for pre-stunning of animals before performing a final-stunning and may include gas storage for re-use of the pre-stunning gas.
Abstract:
A poultry processing line with a conveying track and can include at least one carriage movable in the conveying track. Wheels on opposite sides of the carriage are mounted on an axle guided through a shaft or bore of the carriage, and are movable along supports for the respective wheels on opposite sides of the conveying track. The shaft or bore has a convex inner top surface and convex inner bottom surface as seen in the shaft or bore's longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
An automatic skinning assembly having a loading station, a first device, and a conveyor assembly extending between the first skinning device and the second skinning device.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A device for processing slaughter animals or parts thereof, for example poultry, comprises a transport system with an endless track and a chain of chain elements which can be moved along the track, wherein a plurality of chain elements are set up as carriers to carry one or more slaughter animals and/or parts thereof. The device furthermore has a delivery station for delivering slaughter animals or parts thereof to the carriers of the transport system, one or more stations being set up along the track of the transport system to perform actions relating to the slaughter animals or parts thereof. The device furthermore has location means for determining the position of the chain in relation to the track, wherein the location means comprise an identifiable chain element which has an associated identification mark, and also an identification sensor set up along the track to detect each identifiable chain element, wherein the remaining chain elements in the chain are designed as unidentifiable chain elements. The location means furthermore comprise a counting device to count the unidentifiable chain elements which pass along a counting station by the track following the passage of an identifiable chain element. Moreover, the location means furthermore comprise electronic memory means with a memory table in which a memory field is provided for each carrier, wherein the location means record a variable in the memory field representing the number of carriers counted by the counting device since the passage of the identifiable chain element located upstream.
Abstract:
Automated systems and methods for controlling functions in an animal processing facility wherein at least one sensor is provided for sensing the presence of each animal unit at the input of a predetermined process or system and for counting and/or tracking each animal unit through the process or system using animal unit sensing outputs, while coordinating at least one function of the predetermined process or system in an automated, integrated manner based upon the animal unit sensing outputs.

Abstract:
The invention is a system for removing dead animals from a building having a ceiling structure, a plurality of parallel elongated pens, and a dead animal depository station. The system includes a track that extends horizontally over the pens and is suspended from the ceiling structure. A carriage assembly is mounted on the track for travel along the track. Rotatably secured to the carriage assembly about a vertical axis is a winch apparatus that extends downwardly from the carriage. Secured to the winch is a flexible means that moves vertically with respect to the winch which is attached to dead animals for raising the animal above the pen and lowering the animal to the dead animal depository.
