Abstract: A method of mechanically removing skin from animal parts that have a bone part extending therein, including moving the animal parts, suspended on shackles depending from an overhead conveyor, along a path of travel and cutting the part to separate the skin therefrom. The part moves into a skinning station in which the part is urged into engagement with skinning rolls. The skinning rolls are rotated and engage and draw the skin of the part therebetween. The skin is progressively pulled downwardly and away from underlying meat of the animal part as the part moves forwardly along its path of travel.

Abstract: An apparatus is for detaching meat strips, which are located on a breastbone crest of a poultry carcass, from poultry carcasses of slaughtered poultry bodies or parts thereof which are already freed from breast fillets. The apparatus has a circulating conveyor having at least one holding apparatus with a support body for receiving and holding the poultry bodies/parts during transport in a transport direction, and at least one processing station along a conveying path of the conveyor. One processing station is a detaching unit for detaching the meat strips from the breastbone crest. The detaching unit has a pre-detaching element and a detaching element. The pre-detaching element is cuts into the meat strip in a region of a breastbone horn of the breastbone crest which leads in the transport direction and the detaching element grips and peels the meat strip off the breastbone crest. A corresponding method is provided.

Abstract: The systems and methods can include calculating a dwell time or density of workpieces in a vessel; and modulating the one or more conditions of the system based on the dwell time or density of workpieces in the vessel. In an example, the system includes a vessel configured to carry a working fluid and a plurality of workpieces at least partially submerged in the working fluid; a delivery train configured to introduce workpieces into the vessel; a first counting sensor configured to generate an entrance signal based upon a workpiece introduced into the vessel; a transport train configured to transport workpieces introduced into the vessel to an exit of the vessel; a removal train configured to remove workpieces from the vessel through the exit; and a second counting sensor configured to generate an exit signal based upon a workpiece removed from the vessel through the exit.

Abstract: A method treats a food product for increasing the weight of the food product. The food product is an animal carcass, poultry, meat, seafood or parts thereof. The method includes introducing nano-bubbles (NB) into water or an aqueous solution to provide NB-comprising water and contacting the food product with NB-comprising water for a time sufficient to increase the weight of the food product.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (S) for conveying fowl giblets (not shown) that is installed in a machine (M) for processing fowl giblets (not shown) to clean said giblets (not shown). The system (S) includes a station (1) for guiding giblets (not shown) against a cleaning assembly (2), both of which are simultaneously moved by a movement assembly (4) so that the guide station (1) continuously shakes and presses the giblets (not shown) against the cleaning assembly (2), the movement of said station removing residual parts from the giblets (not shown) passing through the system (S).

Abstract: A transfer conveyor for food process lines has an endless conveyor belt characterized by an upper, food-product carrying run and a lower, return run. The upper, food-product carrying run defines a transit plane. The upper, food-product carrying run also extends between an intake end and a discharge end. The upper, food-product carrying run furthermore has a first pleat below the transit plane proximate the intake end and a second spaced-away pleat below the transit plane proximate the discharge end. These spaced-away pleats partitioning the upper, food-product carrying run into an intake-end span and a discharge-end span cooperatively flanking a mid-span. Wherein the transfer conveyor additionally includes one scale servicing the intake-end span of the upper, food-product carrying run and another scale servicing the discharge-end span.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for thermal treatment of poultry appendages, such as chicken feet or paws. In this regard, the apparatus may include a thermal transport assembly that may be structured and dimensioned to be filled with a thermal treatment liquid (e.g., water, or the like) that is regulated at a designated target temperature. The poultry appendages may be pumped from a picker assembly to the thermal transport assembly such that the appendages are at least partially submerged in the thermal treatment liquid while being transported through the thermal transport assembly. The thermal treatment liquid may be maintained at a specified temperature, and the thermal transport assembly may be operated such that the poultry appendages are at least partially submerged in the thermal treatment liquid for a specified amount of time.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for crop cover skin removal are proposed. For example, a method can include receiving a bird in a station. The method can also include grasping crop cover skin of the bird by a pair of peeler rollers. The method can further include tensioning the crop cover skin by the pair of peeler rollers. The method can additionally include slicing the crop cover skin while the crop cover skin is being tensioned.
