Abstract:
A multi-configurable mower deck for use with a lawnmower, the mower deck including a top surface, a front leading edge, at least one side wall extending from the top surface, and at least one partial rear wall extending from the top surface. The mower deck includes both a side-discharge opening formed on one side of the mower deck and a rear-discharge opening formed through the at least one partial rear wall. Additionally, the mower deck may include a selectively removable secondary front baffle configured to block the flow of clippings through the side-discharge opening and direct the flow of clippings toward the rear-discharge opening. The mower deck may also include at least one selectively removable rear baffle, wherein the at least one selectively removable rear baffle is configured to at least partially block the rear-discharge opening.
Abstract:
A harvesting apparatus includes a crop conditioning element coupled to a frame, and a hood moveable relative to the crop conditioning element. An actuating system moveably connects the hood to the frame. The actuating system includes a driven lever arm rotatably attached to the frame and including a first lever connection and a second lever connection positioned opposite each other across a lever rotation axis. A first pivot assembly is rotatably attached to the frame and includes a first pivot connection coupled to the first lever connection of the driven lever arm, and a second pivot connection coupled to a first lift connection of the hood. A second pivot assembly is rotatably attached to the frame and includes a third pivot connection coupled to the second lever connection of the driven lever arm, and a fourth pivot connection coupled to a second lift connection of the hood.
Abstract:
A riding mower including two mower blades that rotate to mow grass and generate air flows, the two mower blades including a left mower blade and a right mower blade, a mower deck, two motors that rotate the respective mower blades and a controller is provided. The left and right mower blades being provided adjacent to each other and one of the left and right mower blades being disposed obliquely in front of the other mower blade. The riding mower generates a combined air flow and discharges mowed grass to the outside of the mower deck together with the combined air flow. The controller controls such that a difference between the rotational speeds of the left and right mower blades is changed at a predetermined period and the mowed grass is discharged to the rear of the mower deck uniformly in a lateral direction of the mower deck.
Abstract:
A walk power mower has a mower deck that encloses a pair of rotary cutting blades with the grass clippings from the blades being discharged through a rearwardly extending grass discharge tunnel in a rear bagging mode of operation. The blades are powered by a timed drive system that is carried by a horizontal apron that is part of a cast aluminum engine mount. The engine mount and the apron are bolted to a stamped steel deck shell that forms the cutting chamber in which the blades rotate. The mower has a side discharge mode in which a side discharge chute is releasably mounted over a side discharge opening. The chute carries a flow cutoff baffle having an inwardly protruding inner end that sticks through the side discharge opening to intercept and direct the clippings out through the side discharge opening and through the chute in the side discharge mode.
Abstract:
A mower unit includes a housing, a pair of cutting blades arranged inside the housing, each of the cutting blades being rotatable about a respective vertical axis supported by said housing, the cutting blades being driven to be rotated in opposite directions, and a baffle arranged generally between rotation regions of the cutting blades to guide air flows generated by the cutting blades. The baffle defines an upper baffle portion located adjacent an upper region of the housing, a lower baffle portion located adjacent a lower region of the housing, and an air passage formed for allowing the air flows to flow between the upper baffle portion and lower baffle portion.
Abstract:
A riding lawn mower having zero turn capabilities has the engine mounted on the front of the frame. A drive system includes first and second hydrostatic transmissions for use in driving the back wheels. A grass bag may be mounted to the back portion of the frame and provides a counter balance to maximize the weight distribution. A discharge chute transfers cut vegetation from a mower deck to the grass bag and provides rear center discharge.
Abstract:
A disc mower conditioner utilizing a modular disc cutterbar to sever standing crop material by impact action. The side sheets of the disc mower conditioner are provided with a rolling crop divider that can be an optional attachment. The rolling crop divider is constructed as a series of overlapping rolling coulters mounted to the side sheet by bearings to enhance the rolling operation of the coulters. The rolling coulters effectively divide the crop material to direct tall and entangled crops into the header to be severed by the rotating knives. The coulters are arranged in a trailing orientation to present a curved leading edge that is highly effective in directing tall, entangled or viney crops downwardly into engagement with the adjacent disc cutter.
Abstract:
A pull-type mower conditioner includes a crop harvesting header vertically movable relative to the frame of the mower conditioner between a raised transport position and a lowered operative position, a lift mechanism to effect the movement of the crop harvesting header relative to the frame, and a transport latch mechanism to control the locking of the lift mechanism in the transport position. The transport latch mechanism has a biasing lever operably positionable between locking and unlocking positions. An extension spring is connected to the biasing lever to bias the lever in the selectable positions. The transport latch will not engage whenever the header is moved to the transport position to avoid an obstacle unless the biasing lever is moved to the lock position. Once the biasing lever is adjusted to bias the transport latch into the lock position, the raising of the header into the transport position will actuate the transport latch and lock the lift mechanism from returning the header to the lowered position. The lift linkage incorporates a cam mechanism that serves as an upper flotation limit under normal operating conditions and automatically converts into a device for securing the header in the transport position when the header is moved into the transport position.
Abstract:
A crop harvester header or platform includes a rotary cutterbar for cutting and directing crop to a crop conditioner having a length shorter than that of the cutterbar and being disposed centrally behind the cutterbar. The header is equipped with a crop converging structure including right- and left-hand drums or cages respectively mounted to the tops of right- and left-hand cutter discs respectively at opposite ends of the cutterbar, and further including right- and left-hand crop guiding or directing structures respectively disposed for guiding crop from forward locations of the drums or cages over the cutter discs respectively adjacent the end cutter discs and toward the crop conditioner. Right- and left-hand transverse wall or bulkhead structures extend upwardly from a transverse stiffener member at the rear of the cutterbar and air inlet openings are provided in each of the transverse walls in order that at least the endmost cutter discs are in communication with an adequate source of air permitting them to create an airstream for sufficient for aiding in conveying crop to the crop conditioner
