Abstract: A lawnmower blade stamped or laser cut from a single metal sheet arranged as four blade arms of equal length on a single cutting plane that can resemble a cruciform shape. This design yields a uniform strength and reliability and does not rely on nuts, bolts, and multipart construction, and with minimal effect on overall weight. Each blade extends outward from a center mounting, possesses an offset, a sharpened leading edge and oppositely a deflection portion that is curved upward to produce a consistent suction force and circulating air flow useful during high moisture conditions. The leading edges all rotate in a single cutting plane to produce a level grass cut. The blade is capable of easy installation on a wide range of lawnmowers, but with a focus on commercial models and applications.

Abstract: A mowing machine may include a central cutting deck generally disposed in a neutral mowing plane and a wing cutting deck pivotable with respect to the central cutting deck. A main gearbox may be connected to a wing gearbox by a wing driveline. The main gearbox may be disposed a sufficient distance forward of the central cutting deck and the wing cutting deck to permit the wing cutting deck to pivot about a hinge in a range of motion without disconnecting the wing driveline from either the main gearbox or the wing gearbox.

Abstract: A rotary lawn mower has one or more grass cutting blades that are rotatable in opposite directions about a vertical axis or axes. Each blade is double edged having front and rear cutting edges on each end of the blade. Each blade end has a front sloped face inboard of the front cutting edge and a rear sloped face inboard of the rear cutting edge. These faces create air flow within the cutting chamber when cutting grass regardless of the direction of rotation of the blade. The direction of rotation of each blade is reversed to switch between discharge and mulching modes of operation. A flow director has a curved vertical guide wall that guides the grass clippings through a discharge opening in the discharge mode and that guides the flow of grass clippings away from the discharge opening in the mulching mode.
