摘要: A method and an apparatus for life cycle management for superpixels associated to frames of a sequence of frames are described. An area occupied by a superpixel in a frame of the sequence of frames is monitored. In case the area of the superpixel becomes smaller than a specified first value, the superpixel is terminated in the later frame. In case the area of the superpixel becomes larger than a specified second value, the superpixel is split in the later frame.

摘要: Accurately estimating the image quality of video is still difficult, especially when there is no reference video available. A method for determining a quality measure for a video image comprises selecting a measuring point, such as a MB, determining a context area around the measuring point, calculating a variance of pixel values in the context area, calculating a variance of pixel values in the measuring point, calculating a relation between the two variances of pixel values, and averaging said relations for a plurality of measuring points, wherein a quality measure for a video image is obtained.

摘要: A system and method for reviewing and checking cinema movies for completeness and conformity with exhibitor expectations in a time-saving and efficient manner. In one embodiment, a method for evaluating presentations is provided wherein for each presentation length, a reel time duration X is determined, points of interest are determined, and presentation length portions to be evaluated are selected as preferably including at least a duration of time which includes each of the determined points of interest. The selected portions may include a buffer portion, e.g., a period of time from about 5% of the total presentation length time before to about 5% of the total presentation length time after each of the determined points of interest. Another portion may be presentation length selected for evaluation which includes at least 10% of the total presentation length time. Such 10% selected portion is preferably selected from the center of each presentation length.

摘要: The method wherein the field or frame mode is selected according to the following steps: determination of a motion vector associated with a co-located macroblock of a macroblock to be coded and finding in the next reference picture, a predefined macroblock to be coded, for the selection, in field or frame mode, scaling of the motion vector according to the temporal distances between the reference pictures corresponding to this motion vector and between the current picture, field or frame, according to a predefined mode and a reference picture chosen from among the reference pictures corresponding to this motion vector, determination of the temporal macroblock in the chosen reference picture, designated by the motion vector scale attributed to the macroblock to be coded, and its field or frame coding mode, selection of field or frame coding mode of the temporal macroblock for the coding of the current macroblock. The applications relate to the compression of data using for example the MPEG4 part 10 standard.

摘要: A telephone line monitoring circuit uses an optoisolator to convert the telephone line current to a voltage which is applied to the input of an AID converter. The A/D values are coarse values representing telephone line current. The A/D is sampled at a predetermined interval to identify changes introduced by the telephone company central office, and to take those changes into account when deciding if an extension telephone has gone off-hook. When a customer causes an extension telephone to go off-hook, the line current divides between the extension telephone and the IRD modem, and such change is detected.
