    摘要: A grain tank for an agricultural harvester has an extension assembly to enable the volume of the tank to be increased. The extension assembly comprises two pairs of mutually opposed panels that are movable relative to the tank between a lowered position in which they serve as a cover for an opening in the top of the tank and a raised position in which they define the side walls of an extension volume that communicates through the opening with the interior of the tank. In the invention, a blind is secured to the opposed panels of one of the pairs to cover the grain tank when the extension assembly is raised. The blind is automatically deployed from a stowed position to a extended position as the two panels are moved to their raised position.

    摘要: A utility vehicle is provided with a bogey beam on which are mounted the steering axle at the forward end of the bogey beam and the middle axle on the rearward end of the bogey beam. A rear drive axle is supported by the frame of the utility vehicle. The bogey beam is connected to the frame by a pivot assembly defining a transverse pivot axis about which the bogey beam can oscillate. The weight transferred to the bogey beam is proportionately distributed between the front steering axle and middle axle. As a result, the steering characteristics of the steering axle are not impaired by the imposition of a load in the load bed of the utility vehicle, as the middle axle cannot be loaded sufficiently to overpower the front steering axle. The middle axle is rotatably driven by a chain drive transferring rotational power from the rear drive axle. The bogey beam is provided with a plurality of pivot axis locations to vary the proportions of the load applied to the front and middle axles as a result of the longitudinal movement of the bogey beam pivot.

    摘要: A transmission is described for a motor vehicle having selectable four-wheel drive. The transmission includes a coupling for selectively applying torque to the front wheels of the vehicle to switch between two-wheel drive and four-wheels drive in dependence upon slipping of the driven wheels. The coupling includes a drive member rotatable with the rear wheels, a driven member rotatable with the front wheels, the drive and driven members being movable axially relative to one another. The drive and driven member have teeth which mesh with one another in a first relative axial position of the drive and driven members to transmit torque from the drive to the driven member, but which are disengaged from one another in a second relative axial position of the drive and driven members to disconnect the drive to the front wheels. Slipping of the rear wheels is sensed electronically and is used to move the drive and driven members axially between the first and second relative positions in dependence upon the determined presence or absence of slipping of the driven wheels.
