摘要: A pivot bearing includes a stepped shaft including an enlarged and a reduced diameter shaft portions; a plurality of balls of the lower row are interposed between the enlarged diameter shaft portion and a sleeve outer ring surrounding the enlarged diameter shaft portion; a ball bearing including inner and outer rings and a plurality of balls interposed therebetween is provided around the reduced diameter shaft portion so that the inner ring is secured around the reduced diameter shaft portion with applying an appropriate pre-load on the upper end surface of the inner ring, and the outer ring is urged to contact the lower surface thereof intimately onto the upper surface of the sleeve outer ring. The pivot bearing is reduced in the number of elements, facilitated in incorporating a bearing with the swing arm, and expected to reduce the manufacturing cost.

摘要: A spindle motor comprising a double row bearing device including a shaft, a sleeve surrounding the shaft, and a pair of upper and lower rows of balls, a cylindrical bearing holder extending upwardly from a base of the spindle motor for accommodating the sleeve within a vertical bore of the holder, and a rotor hub mounted on the shaft for journaling the rotor hub rotatably on the base, the spindle motor is characterized in that a reduced inner diameter portion of an inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the sleeve is formed on the inner surface of the bore of the bearing holder between the upper and lower larger inner diameter portions to urge the sleeve inwardly by the reduced inner diameter portion to deform it elastically to form a squeezed portion protruding inwardly of the sleeve between the upper and lower rows of balls.

摘要: A spindle motor of the present invention is capable of keeping its ball (5a, 5b)'s pre-load constant, because a sleeve (6) is capable of being resiliently deformed due to its resiliency, and therefore capable of constantly keeping a pre-load applied to the balls (5a, 5b) from inner and inner ring raceways of inner and outer rings (3a, 4a, 3b, 4b) of ball bearings (3, 4). In this motor, a rotor hub (7) has an axial center bore (8). This bore (8) is provided with: a large-diameter bore portions in its opposite axial ends; and, a small-diameter bore portion (8a) axially interposed between the large-diameter bore portions. An inner diameter of the small-diameter bore portion (8a) is smaller than an outer diameter of the sleeve (6). The axial center bore (8) of the hub (7) is fitted to an outer peripheral surface of the sleeve (6) in an insertion manner through a heating shrinkage fit process, so that the sleeve (6) is subjected to a radially inwardly exerted pressure applied from outside to resiliently deform radially inwardly. As a result, a small-diameter portion (6a) is formed in the sleeve (6) to extend radially inwardly between the outer rings (3b, 4b).

摘要: To provide a stainless steel for anti-friction bearings, which is obtained by making its eutectic carbide contents finer in particle diameter and suppressing the generation of non-metallic substances to an extremely low level, thus having a homogenious and dense structure and permitting highly accurate machining. The provided stainless steel is composed of 0.60 to 0.75% of carbon, 10.5 to 13.5% of chromium, 1.0% or below of silicon and 0.3 to 0.8% of manganese, % being by weight, the remainder of the composition being iron and inevitably introduced impurities, has a hardness of HRC 58 or above, contains eutectic carbide particles of 10 .mu.m and below in diameter, and has oxygen and titanium concentrations each of 10 ppm or below.

摘要: A compound ball bearing comprises a bearing body including a spindle 1, a sleeve 2 surrounding the spindle 1, and an inner ring fitted on the spindle or an outer ring fitted in the sleeve, and balls 5, 9 provided between the spindle 1 and sleeve 2, between the spindle and outer ring or between the inner ring 6 and sleeve 2. A motor component such as a hub 11 for the rotor, a flange for the motor base or a yoke yolder is molded as a one-piece molding with the sleeve, spindle or inner ring. The inner or outer ring can be secured in a proper position by facilitating its pre-loading, and the vibration accuracy of the spindle can be improved.

摘要: In a motor having a spindle (5) on which an inner race (8) of a ball bearing is mounted, an outer peripheral surface of an end of the spindle (5) has a knurled portion (16) on which is mounted the inner race (8) which is fixed to the spindle (5) through an adhesive (18) filled in a clearance between an inner surface of the inner race (8) and the knurled portion (16). An annular groove (19), formed in the spindle (5) in an area adjacent to the knurled portion (16), is also filled with the adhesive (18) to further fix the inner race (8) to the spindle (5), which improves the adhesive bond between the inner race (8) and the spindle (5). Even when the ball bearing is a miniature one having a thin-wall inner race (8), there is no fear of deformation of the inner race (8) when the adhesive (18) is cured, which improves the rotational accuracy of the rotor.

摘要: A plug-type sealing assembly for hermetically closing a filler hole 24 of a lid 19 of a container 20, comprises: a plug 1 having a rod portion 3 in an upper part of which a large-diameter head portion 2 is formed, the rod portion 3 having a male screw 5 in its outer peripheral surface; and, a sleeve 8 provided with an axial through-hole together with a countersunk head portion 10 and a slit skirt portion 11 extending downward from a lower end of said countersunk head portion 10. In the through-hole, a female screw 15a, 15b is formed. In the container 20: through the filler hole 24 a sealant 23 is supplied between joint portions of the container 20 so that the container 20 is hermetically sealed; and, the sealing assembly is easily removed from the filler hole 24 to ensure that the sealant 23 is supplemented or replaced with a new one through the filler hole 24 in an easy and a safety manner, and easily mounted again in the filler hole 24 after completion of such supplementing or replacing operation of the sealant 23, by threadably engaging the male screw 5 of the plug 1 with and disengaging from the female screw 15a, 15b of the sleeve 8.
