    摘要: Example implementations relate to multicast multi-user grouping. For example, an apparatus may comprise a processing resource that may rank a plurality of stations associated with the apparatus based on a characteristic associated with a first multicast group containing a first set of stations among the plurality of stations, and a characteristic associated with a second multicast group containing a second set of stations among the plurality of stations. The processing resource may assign a first group of stations from the first multicast group and the second multicast group to a first multi-user group and assign a second group of stations from the first multicast group and the second multicast group to a second multi-user group. The processing resource may convert a multicast frame associated with a station from the first multi-user group to a unicast frame, and transmit the unicast frame to each station in the first multi-user group.

    摘要: MAC addresses provide a way to identify wireless client devices. Some wireless client devices are able to change their MAC addresses. Provided are devices computer-program products, and methods for identifying wireless client devices based on radiofrequency signatures of transmissions from the client devices. In some implementations, one or more wireless frames are received at a network device. In these implementations, a wireless frame is received at two or more antennas. In some implementations, a signal characteristic associated with transmission of the wireless frame is monitored. In these implementations, monitoring the signal characteristic includes using two or more antennas to determine a physical or temporal characteristic associated with the transmission of the wireless frame. In some implementations, a client device is identified. The identified client device is associated with the transmission of the wireless frame. In these implementations, identifying the client device includes using the monitored signal characteristics.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a network device that indicates a master network controller in a virtual redundant router protocol (VRRP) peer. In example implementations, the network device determines a bake-off time and refrains from sending packets during the bake-off time to a network. Also, the network device determines whether a first packet is received from the network. If either the bake-off time expires or the first packet is received from the network, the network device determines whether a spanning tree protocol (STP) convergence has completed. If so, the network device starts a VRRP state machine. If both the STP convergence has completed and the VRRP state machine has been started, the network device transmits a broadcast message indicating that the network device acts as a master network controller in the network.

    摘要: The present disclosure discloses a method and a network device for failure detection of nodes in a cluster. Specifically, a network device transmits data to another device at a first time. The network device then receives an acknowledgment of the data from the second device at a second time. Next, the network device determines a Round Trip Time (RTT) for the first device and the second device based on the first time and the second time. Based on the RTT, the network device determines a first frequency for transmitting a heartbeat protocol message between the first device and the second device, and transmits a heartbeat protocol message between the first device and the second device at the first frequency.

    摘要: Methods and systems are described for intelligently steering client devices operating in an enterprise network system to an appropriate access point based on types of traffic on each client device and/or types of traffic on access points. In particular, client devices may be moved to a different access point when the wireless channel provided by a current access point fails to meet the signal strength requirements of latency sensitive traffic utilized by the client device. Client devices may be further steered to new access points based on load conditions on access points. For example, client devices with low priority traffic sessions may be steered away from access points with high traffic load levels. Accordingly, the methods and systems described herein ensure improved network access for latency sensitive access categories and/or access categories that are considered important to an enterprise system with minimal disruptions to these sessions.
