摘要： A wound closure device for closing a surgical wound includes at least one compressive clip for applying pressure to a patient's tissue. The clip includes a first clamping arm, a second clamping arm, and a flexible pin maintained between the first and second clamping arms in a press-fit relationship. Each of the first and second clamping arms has a proximal first end, an opposing distal second end and a sidewall extending therebetween. The clip has a first position in which the proximal first ends of the first and second clamping arms partially engage or do not engage each other and a second position in which the proximal first ends of the first and second clamping arms pivotally engage each other. In the second position of the clip, a compressive force generated at the proximal first ends is transferred through the first and second clamping arms to the distal second ends.

摘要： An applicator for applying a surgical clip to a patient's tissue has a frame assembly with an applicator tube having a distal end configured to releasably receive the surgical clip. The applicator has a surgical-clip opening assembly including a clip-opening trigger, a clip-opening rod disposed in the applicator tube and a clip-opening jaw. Activation of the clip-opening trigger displaces the clip-opening rod proximally opening the clip-opening jaw. A surgical-clip closing assembly has a clip-closing trigger, a clip-closing rod disposed in the applicator tube and a clip-closing beam. Activation of the clip-closing trigger displaces the clip-closing rod distally closing the clip-opening jaw. A surgical-clip ejection assembly has a clip ejection knob, a clip-ejection rod disposed in the applicator tube and a clip ejection beam. Activation of the clip-ejection knob ejects the surgical clip. The clip-opening trigger, clip-closing trigger and clip ejection knob are independently activatable.

摘要： An applicator for a wound closure device includes a proximal handle and a barrel extending from the handle. The barrel includes an elongate shaft, a slidable elongate actuator, and an elongate, slidable ejector rod. A jaw is pivotably attached to a distal end of the elongate actuator. The jaw has a first pair of prongs and the shaft distally terminates in a second pair of prongs. The first and second pairs of prongs are configured to releasably receive the wound closure device. A single trigger is attached to the handle and is actuatable to a first position configured to enable loading of the wound closure device to the first and second pairs of prongs, a second position configured to open the loaded wound closure device, a third position configured to close the loaded wound closure device, and a fourth position configured to release the wound closure device from the applicator.

摘要： A surgical clip applicator includes a base housing having a body portion, a movable trigger, a cannula, and a clip application mechanism extending within and through at least a portion of a length of the cannula. The clip application mechanism includes a movable first linkage and a jaw rotatable about a pivot mount. A first actuation of the trigger causes the first linkage to be moved in a linear direction with respect to the body portion and the cannula and the jaw to be rotated in a first direction about the pivot mount, for placing the clip in an open position on the patient's tissue. A second actuation of the trigger causes the jaw to be rotated in second direction about the pivot mount, the second direction being opposite to the first direction, placing the clip in a closed position on the patient's tissue.
