    摘要: A method and apparatus for video encoding to generate a partitioned bitstream without buffering transform coefficient and/or prediction data for subsequent coding units are disclosed. An encoder incorporating an embodiment according to the present invention receives first video parameters associated with a current coding unit, wherein no first video parameters associated with subsequent coding units are buffered. The encoder then encodes the first video parameters to generate a current first compressed data corresponding to the current coding unit. A first memory address in the first logic unit is determined and the encoder provides the current first compressed data at the first memory address in the first logic unit.

The extractor receives the input bit stream and extracts a code with a predetermined codeword length therefrom. The length generator receives the extracted code and determines a first codeword length corresponding to a symbol according to the extracted code and a base table. The base selector determines a codeword base corresponding to the first codeword length according to the base table. The processing unit generates the symbol corresponding to the extracted code according to the codeword base, an offset table and the first codeword length.

The CABAC method for a bitstream comprises: detecting a control signal (Sig_first); decoding a first bin representing one of a first coefficient flag (Sig) and a second coefficient flag (Last) from the bitstream according to the control signal (Sig_first); decoding a second bin representing one of the second coefficient flag (Last) and a next first coefficient flag (Sig) from the bitstream according to the decoded first bin and the control signal (Sig_first); and updating the control signal (Sig_first) according to the decoded first and second bins. The first and second bins are decoded in one clock cycle, the first coefficient flag (Sig) indicates whether a corresponding coefficient value is zero, and the second coefficient flag (Last) indicates whether a coefficient map decoding process is finished.
