    摘要: A second generation CD provides improved sound quality over that provided by a first generation CD while remaining compatible with it has a higher sampling rate and has a data format of 1-bit .DELTA..SIGMA. modulation. The higher sampling frequency is an integer multiple of the standard sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz used in the first generation CD to thereby simplify the clock signal generation circuitry. The recording system uses decimation filters to lower the sampling frequency of the 1-bit .DELTA..SIGMA. modulation signal so that the same signal can be used to manufacture both a first generation CD and a second generation CD. The playback apparatus is compatible and the kind of disk is determined based on the table of contents information, so that the appropriate clock signals can be provided to the decoders. In the case of the first generation CD being played back, the data is converted by an oversampling filter and a .DELTA..SIGMA. modulator before being digital to analog converted.

    摘要: A recording medium which realizes high sound quality and is playable on a conventional playback device has a recording layer provided with a double-layered structure having at least a first layer L1 and a second layer L2, an audio data program is recorded on the first layer in the first data format, which is the conventional format, and the audio data program is recorded on the second layer in a second, new data format. The audio data programs recorded on the first layer and on the second layer are the same program and can be produced using 1-bit .DELTA..SIGMA. modulation having a high sampling rate as the new format, the .DELTA..SIGMA. modulated signal being passed through successive decimation filters to form the lower sampling rate signal of the conventional format. The double-layered disk can be played back using a disk judging unit that detects the disk's table of contents and controls a laser beam focus of a pick up, an operating clock frequency, and the decoder for reading out the data recorded in pits formed on the disk.

    摘要: A connector provided on a projector has an RF chip. A plug connected to the connector has an RF chip at a position opposite to the RF chip of the connector. When a protruding section of the plug is inserted and fit into an aperture section of the connector, the RF chip of the plug and the RF chip of the connector perform wireless communication with each other in a non-contact state. Thus, a connecting tool can be easily attached to/detached from a receiving tool without breaking a terminal due to contact such as in a case where a conventional contact type terminal is used.
