Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for dispensing vehicle balancing weights are disclosed. The dispenser comprises a plurality of transport units arranged below cartridges for storing and transporting balancing weights. The transport units move balancing weights from a selected section of the cartridges to two belt conveyors for further transporting the balancing weights to a handling device. Each transport unit comprises a feeder, whereas the feeders push selected balancing weights towards belt conveyors.

The transport unit moves a balancing weight from a selected section of the cartridge on a belt conveyor for further transporting the balancing weight to a handling device. The transport unit comprises a feeder, and a plurality of stack lifters for lifting a stack of balancing weights and allowing the feeder to push a selected balancing weight under the stack of other balancing weights towards the belt conveyor.
Abstract:
Apparatus and a method for transporting and positioning of balancing weights connected together to form a chain of balancing weights is disclosed. A drive means comprises at least a transport wheel and/or a transport belt. The drive means has at least one cam to interface with a gap between two adjacent balancing weights of the chain of balancing weights. Furthermore a cutter may be provided for cutting of balancing weights from the chain.
Abstract:
A device for the application of balancing weights to the rim of a vehicle wheel comprises a program controlled manipulator device with a balancing weight application head. The application head is configured to first pick up a balancing weight from a dispenser and then to be transported by the manipulator device to the rim, where the application head can apply the balancing weight to the rim.
Abstract:
A dispenser for balancing weights for vehicles comprises a plurality of dispenser modules. The dispenser modules have a cartridge with at least two compartments for storing balancing weights. Each compartment has at least one retrieval opening. A cartridge actuator moves the cartridge linearly along a first axis, such that a retrieval feed opening is positioned above a slider feed opening in the dispenser module. A slider, which is operated by a slider actuator along a second axis, parallel to the first axis, has a balancing weight compartment, which can be moved under the slider feed opening, such that a balancing weight may drop from the cartridge into the compartment. The compartment is then moved to a picking tray in which the balancing weight is delivered to a handling device for placing the balancing weight to a wheel.
Abstract:
An apparatus for removal of the liner of a self-adhesive balancing weight is disclosed. A stripper wheel or stripper belt is rotated in close proximity over the surface of a balancing weight, and interacting with the liner and pulling the liner off from the balancing weight by means of a plurality of teeth. The speed of the stripper wheel or stripper belt is slightly higher than the speed of motion of the balancing weight.

Abstract:
A tray assembly for balancing weights is disclosed. The tray assembly has trays of different sizes adapted to different sizes of the balancing weights. This results in that the balancing weights are all positioned in the same height, and therefore can easily be picked up by a handling system. The size of the tray may automatically be adjusted by slides operated by actuators. The tray may be a horizontal rotating tray assembly which preferably has a conical form, thus allowing a plurality of handling systems, picking up balancing weights at the same time. This results in a significantly improved loading speed.
