Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a power plant during an event which requires a change of the power produced by the power plant, wherein the power plant comprises a plurality of power generating units including at least one wind turbine generator, the method comprises determining the power reference dependent on an available power, changing the power reference to a modified power reference by a power variation in response to detecting a first event, memorizing a power level relating to the actual power production at a time occurrence of the first event, setting a maximum power limit to the memorized power level, limiting the modified power reference to the maximum power limit, and controlling the power produced by the wind turbines in accordance with the limited modified power reference.

Abstract: The invention relates to a hybrid power plant for producing power to the electrical grid, the hybrid power plant comprising a plurality of energy assets; a first renewable power generating unit, such as wind turbine generators, and an energy storage unit, preferably a battery energy storage system. The hybrid power plant has a power plant controller arranged to communicate with the plurality of energy assets, and, when an under-frequency event occurs, the energy storage unit provides frequency support during the under-frequency event by providing additional power as a function of a state of charge of the energy storage unit at the time when the under-frequency event occurs. Thus, during an under-frequency event, it is possible to obtain a more stable power output from the hybrid power plant.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a power plant for providing frequency support to a power grid. The power plant comprises an electrical storage unit and a power generating system comprising one or more power generating units including at least one wind turbine generator. The method comprises setting a frequency control period, wherein the electrical storage unit is scheduled to charge or discharge according to a first power set-point and at the start of the frequency control period, charging or discharging the electrical storage unit according to the power set-point. In case of a frequency deviation, a power change of the power from the electrical storage unit is determined based on the frequency deviation. Frequency support is provided by controlling the electrical storage unit to charge or discharge according to a second power set-point determined from the power change.

In response to this first comparison, there are distributed set points to the first and the second renewable power generating units so as to deliver power from the hybrid power plant in accordance with the received active power reference.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a group of wind turbines in a wind power plant coupled to a utility grid, comprising the steps of determining that a wind turbine should be deactivated in response to receiving a power curtailment command from the grid, and retrieving data from each wind turbine in the group of wind turbines. Further, the method no comprises ranking all the wind turbines according to a set of ranking criteria and based on the retrieved data, and selecting a wind turbine to be deactivated based on the ranking. Further, the steps of data retrieval and ranking of all the wind turbines including any deactivated wind turbines in the group are repeated at time intervals, and the wind turbine to be deactivated is re-selected based on this updated ranking. The data may include a down time for any presently deactivated wind turbine in the group of wind turbines, reflecting for how long time the wind turbine has been presently deactivated, and the set of ranking criteria may then comprise a pause criterion taking into account the down time.

Abstract: The invention relates to a power plant controller for controlling wind turbine generators. More particularly, the invention relates to a method for compensating data obtained from measurements at a connection point to the grid in case of a communication failure where communication of such data is lost or becomes unreliable. The measured data are used in the power plant controller for determining setpoints for controlling the wind turbine generators' production of active and reactive power. In response to detection of a communication fault a new setpoint is determined independently of new measured grid data by reconfiguring parts of the power plant controller.
