摘要： In folded-product production in which a product stream is split up into at least two sub-streams which each run through an associated folding arrangement and are then reunited, it is possible to achieve a high level of user-friendliness and good cost-effectiveness in that at least one sub-stream is assigned a marking arrangement for marking the products passing it, with the result that, upon detection of inaccuracies stemming from the folding operation carried out following the splitting-up action, said products can immediately be assigned to the associated sub-stream, and thus to the folding arrangement belonging to said sub-stream.

摘要： In order to set the sheet guidance devices of a folder simply and quickly for the production of once or twice cross-folded products and to guide the products reliably and carefully, a tongue and a tongue bar are arranged in the runout gap of the folding blade cylinder and gripper/folding knife cylinder. To produce twice cross-folded products, the tongue can be moved out of the runout gap, after which a guidance device with a somewhat arc-shaped contour is directed to the runout gap.

摘要： To capture a torn web traveling at high speed after receiving printed subject matter from a printing machine, the web is guided between a pair of capturing rollers (1, 55) which, in normal operation, pass the web without contact with the rollers therebetween. Upon sensing of a torn web, a "torn web" signal modifies the diameter of one of the rollers to engage against the other, with the torn web therebetween. This system eliminates moving the axes of rotation of the rollers. Expansion of the diameter of the expandable roller is achieved by forming the roller of part-cylindrical segments which are retained by pivot levers (9, 54) on a rotating spindle (13), the levers being movable under spring pressure (16) from a sharply inclined to a more erected position to thereby move the segments (2, 3, 4) outwardly. A sear (20, 21) releases spring pressure. Centrifugal force due to rotation of the rollers assists in rapid expansion of the effective diameter of the expandable roller.

摘要： A printing press having an apparatus for determining the product thickness of a folded product which is fed to folding rolls for making a fold known as the third fold. The apparatus has measuring heads that are arranged on both sides of a folding roll bearing levers. For the purpose of presetting, the product to be folded is introduced slowly between folding rolls. The position of the folding rolls is determined, and a setting signal is generated therefrom and supplied to an actuating motor via a machine presetting means. The actuating motor sets the position of the folding roll levers, such that the folding rolls can be set relative to one another with regard to their mutual spacing, in accordance with the thickness of the folded product.
