    摘要： A fixed position remote control unit 20 as used with a movable barrier operator 11 has an externally accessible plug-in module interface 25. This interface 25 operably couples to the link 23 and 24 between the remote control unit 20 and the operator 11. So configured, a plug-in module 40 that docks and couples with this plug-in module interface 25 can receive operating (or charging) power from the movable barrier operator 11, exchange signaling with the movable barrier operator 11, or both. The ability to readily exchange signaling without invasive wiring permits a wide variety of plug-in modules 40 to be utilized.

    摘要： A movable barrier operator includes an absolute position detector which provides a unique value for each position of the barrier along its path of travel. The absolute position detector employs multiple binary serial streams and one multiple clock stream. After the first five cycles of the clock stream, the binary streams can be decoded by a processor to produce an absolute position. Every clock edge produces a new absolute position along the path of travel.

The wall control unit has a wall control unit port for connection to the wire connection. A first switch sends a barrier command signal to the head unit commanding the head unit to open or close a movable barrier. A second switch commands the head unit to provide energization to a light source. An infrared detector causes a command signal to be sent to the head unit to control the illumination state of the light source.
