    摘要: Disclosed is a method for processing an exhaust gas containing an alkaline substance, the exhaust gas being emitted when activating a carbon material with an alkaline substance. The method includes the steps of preparing a humidified gas, which exhibits a dew point of 25° C. or more, by mixing an inert gas with water vapor, generating a hydroxide of metallic alkali by mixing the humidified gas with the exhaust gas; and trapping the generated hydroxide out of the mixture gas of the humidified gas and the exhaust gas.

The apparatus includes a humidified-gas preparing device for preparing a humidified gas, which exhibits a dew point of 25° C. or more; a gas mixing device for mixing the humidified gas with the exhaust gas at a temperature equal to or greater than the dewpoint of the humidified gas, thereby generating a hydroxide of metallic alkali; and a trapping device for trapping the generated hydroxide out of the mixture gas of the humidified gas and the exhaust gas.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide an electric double layer capacitor carbon material and an electric double layer capacitor which can exhibit excellent charge/discharge characteristics. The carbon material for electric double layer capacitors in accordance with the present invention is characterized in having the BET specific surface area in a range of 300-1000 m2/g, the carbon interlayer distance in a range of 0.360-0.380 nm and the carbon strength of 2000 cps or more. This enables to form an electric double layer capacitor having a high capacitance and a low internal resistance. The electric double layer capacitor of the present invention utilizes this carbon material as a polarizable active material. The capacitor of the present invention exhibits a high capacitance and a low internal resistance.

    摘要: To provide a carbonaceous material for electric double layer capacitor, carbonaceous material which demonstrates a good charge/discharge characteristic, when it makes an electric double layer capacitor.A carbonaceous material according to the present invention for electric double layer capacitor is used as a polarizable active material in electric double layer capacitor, and is characterized in that, when measuring it by an electron spin resonance method without adding any additive thereto, the obtained peak line width is 2 mT or less, and in that the peak intensity, which is converted into a number of unpaired electron per 1 g, is 1×1019 or more. Since the carbonaceous material according to the present invention for electric double layer capacitor has turned into a carbonaceous material from which residual functional groups are removed, the reactions between the residual functional groups and the electrolytic liquid are suppressed when forming a capacitor, and thereby a capacitor, which is good in terms of the charge/discharge characteristic, is obtainable.

A method for producing the carbonaceous material includes removing residual functional groups from the carbonaceous material so that reactions between the residual functional groups and the electrolytic liquid are suppressed when forming a capacitor.
