摘要： According to certain embodiments, a method by a wireless device is provided for beam-based random access. The method includes receiving, from a network node, a handover command, the handover command comprising at least one suitability threshold. Measurements of each of a plurality of beams detected by the wireless device are performed. The measurements of the plurality of beams are compared to the at least one suitability threshold. A particular beam is selected based on the comparison, and a random access procedure is initiated.

摘要： A method for enabling operations for a relay node comprises receiving, at a first network node, a system information block including a first indication and a second indication, wherein the first indication indicates that a first cell is a non-standalone cell and is barred for standalone user equipments (UEs), and the second indication indicates that the first network node is able to access the first cell. The method further comprises identifying, at the first network node, whether the first network node is able to access the first cell based on the second indication in the system information block. The method may improve a performance in the network by enabling a relay node to operate in a non-standalone cell, such that both access and backhaul in E-UTRAN New Radio Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) are supported.

The UE may comprise a narrowband wireless device operable to receive a bandwidth less than the first bandwidth, and combining N transmission blocks to decode the system information or synchronization signal may comprise combining at least one transmission block from two or more repetitions of two or more respective subframes of the plurality of subframes.
