    摘要: Provided is a technology in which a controller for controlling read/write performed to/from an optical disc includes a processor for controlling an interface, a temporary memory unit, a rotation control unit, and an optical control unit. The controller causes the processor to shift to a hibernate state when a predetermined condition is satisfied, and causes the processor to recover from the hibernate state into an active state when the interface receives a first command. The processor receives the first command from the interface, instructs the rotation control unit to drive the optical disc at a predetermined target rotational speed, instructs the optical control unit to perform a processing specified by the first command, transmits a completion notification of the first command to the interface with a delay, receives a second command after transmitting the completion notification of the first command, and executes the processing of the second command.

    摘要: Provided is a technology in which a controller for controlling read/write performed to/from an optical disc includes a processor for controlling an interface, a temporary memory unit, a rotation control unit, and an optical control unit.     摘要: In an optical disc device employing a CLV method, executing pickup return processing when focus drop occurs during recording poses problems of increased waiting time for rotation and increased focus servo recovery processing time. When defocusing occurs and focus pull-in cannot be achieved by retry, a first rotation frequency at a radial position thereof is calculated. Next, a second rotation frequency at the innermost circumferential position at the current speed is calculated. Next, a third rotation frequency at a radial position where recording is restarted after focus servo recovery is calculated. Next, a fourth rotation frequency at pickup return position at a different speed is calculated. Next, based on the relationship among the first to fourth rotation frequencies described above, a rotation speed at pickup return is selected so that a rotation frequency difference becomes the smallest in all conditions: at pickup return from defocusing, servo recovery after pickup return, and access operation after the servo recovery.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for recording information which presume a recording state from reflected light during recording to achieve a stable recording quality. When recording information on an optical disk by irradiating laser light with a specified record power (Pw) to form a train of record pits, the recording is performed while forcing a value (CF) of B/Pw2 to be kept substantially constant, where B is the value obtainable by sample-hold of a reflection light amount upon irradiation of the laser light with the specified record power (Pw). Performing the recording in this way makes it possible to realize the recording quality with increased stability. In addition, upon alteration of a tilt angle, arithmetic processing is redone to thereby achieve the stability-enhanced recording quality.
