    Abstract: A vehicle includes: a motor generator; an engine having a forced induction device; and a HV-ECU. An operation region of the engine includes a PM generating region in which an amount of particulate matters included in exhaust gas of the engine is more than a predetermined amount due to a load of the engine being abruptly increased during boosting by the forced induction device. The PM generating region is a low-rotation and high-torque region. When assistance by the motor generator is sufficiently obtained and the engine is operated in the PM generating region, the HV-ECU restricts an increasing rate of the torque of the engine to be less than or equal to an upper limit rate. The HV-ECU complements, by the torque of the motor generator, the torque of the engine restricted by restricting the increasing rate of the torque of the engine.

    Abstract: An engine includes a turbocharger that boosts suctioned air to be fed to the engine. A boost line is determined on a map representing a relationship between the rotation speed of the engine and torque generated by the engine, and the turbocharger boosts suctioned air when the torque generated by the engine indicated by an operating point on the map exceeds the boost line. An HV-ECU controls the engine and a first MG to increase the rotation speed of the engine, depending on the atmospheric pressure, before the torque generated by the engine indicated by the operating point exceeds the boost line, and when the HV-ECU increases the rotation speed of the engine, for lower atmospheric pressure the HV-ECU controls the engine and the first MG to increase the rotation speed more than for higher atmospheric pressure.

    Abstract: A control system may include a first electronic control unit programmed to control the engine and a second electronic control unit programmed to control the rotary electric machine. The second electronic control unit may be programmed to output an engine command signal to the first electronic control unit through communication with the first electronic control unit. The first electronic control unit may be programmed to control the engine in accordance with the engine command signal received from the second electronic control unit, when a communication abnormality with the second electronic control unit does not occur; and to execute fixing operation control in which the engine is controlled such that at least one of speed, output power, and output torque of the engine becomes a corresponding fixed value, when the communication abnormality with the second electronic control unit occurs.
