Abstract: The present invention relates to a self-lubricating coating comprising a dispersion made of nanoparticles containing sulfur that are incorporated into a silver matrix, wherein the nanoparticles containing sulfur have the composition Ag2S and/or Au2S. The present invention furthermore relates to a self-lubricating coating comprising a dispersion made of fluorinated graphene, and/or carbon nanotube (CNT), and/or carbon nanoparticles of the formula (CF)x incorporated into a silver matrix, wherein the fluorinated graphene, CNT, or carbon nanoparticles of the formula (CF)x have a fluorine to carbon ratio of 1 to 1.25. The present invention furthermore relates to a method for the fabrication of the coating, and an electrical contact which comprises such a coating.

Abstract: A current-carrying contact element including a base body having at least one structured contact surface for electrically contacting two opposing electrical conductors in a contact direction. The structured contact surface has collecting recesses for receiving oxide between contact protrusions projecting in the contact direction each having a contact point for contacting the conductor. The contact element includes a nickel layer applied to the structured contact surface for hardening the contact protrusions so that the coated contact protrusions break an oxide layer on the conductor to be contacted upon connection to the conductor to expose a bare mating contact point and for sealing the contact points and the bare mating contact points against oxygen. The ratio of the width and height of the contact protrusion is greater than or equal to 2 and less than or equal to 10.
