摘要: A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes an exit detection system that has, in some embodiments, multiple user-selectable modes. A first mode issues an alert in response to a static condition being met and the second mode issues an alert in response to a dynamic condition being met. The static condition may be defined by an unchanging boundary that triggers an alert if the occupant's center of gravity crosses the boundary. The dynamic condition may be defined by a changing boundary that triggers an alert if the occupant's center of gravity crosses it. The changing boundary may change based upon the occupant's height, weight, BMI, vital sign, or other characteristic. The changing boundary may also change based upon a position of one or more components of the person support apparatus, such as a siderail or Fowler section.

摘要: Patient support apparatuses include a frame, support surface, and a controller. The controller provides notification to a user of a service event relating to the patient support apparatus. The controller limits functionality of a component of the patient support apparatus based upon a severity of the service event. The controller may also, or alternatively, detect when a control is activated by a user and, in response to such activation, determine whether the patient support apparatus has been marked for use or marked for servicing. If marked for use, the controller responds in a first manner, and if marked for service, the controller responds in a different manner. In other embodiments, a method is provided for determining an order in which multiple patient support apparatuses should be service. In still other embodiments, the patient support apparatus automatically changes to an unusable configuration when in need of high priority service.

摘要: A patient support apparatus, such as a stretcher, cot, bed, or the like, includes a patient support surface and a cartridge support surface positioned therebelow. The cartridge support surface supports a diagnostic imaging cartridge, such as an X-ray cartridge. The cartridge support surface includes a generally flat and smooth interior region surrounded by a peripheral region that is beveled to facilitate insertion of a cartridge between the patient and cartridge support surfaces. Handles for controlling the pivoting a portion of the patient support surface are positioned in a corner of the patient support surface where they, and their connected structures, are out of the way of the X-ray path. A joint between sections of the patient support surface is constructed to include, when the sections are flat, overlapping regions that reduce, if not eliminate, visual artifacts caused by differing amounts of X-ray absorption of the patient support apparatus.
